Who do you book you holidays with

As the title says.
Im looking for a get away in europe but not sure who to book with as ive never done it before.
Who would you recommend.

TUI are massive, look at someone like that for a package deal.

Avoid Love Holidays.

British Airways for me.

Avoid On The Beach. Loads of add ons

Jet2 holidays are generally well respected.

The TUI queues at the airport are always massive, I’d try Jet2.

I always book everything separately to make sure everything is perfect for us as a family. It saves a fortune and we always stay beachfront at a fraction of the cost.

i know some people like the protection of abta, but we don’t skimp on holiday insurance.

In 2020 had no problem at all with getting refunds from the airline and accommodation when everything was cancelled. Less so than others with package deals

Jet2, Tui and for bigger trips Travelbag, Kenwood Travel or Kuoni

If OP isn't a seasoned traveller, I'd highly recommend their first international trip be organised for them as a package deal with all the protections that brings - especially when dealing with things like cancelled or delayed flights and transiting to and from the airports.

Package deals seems to be the best at the moment.

Jet2 are absolutely brilliant at putting together packages that cover stuff you might not have thought of as a new traveller, transfers for instance. They also have visible staff at both ends at the airports just ironing out any queries, really unusual in these days!
I also had a couple of trips cancelled during Covid, refunded from Jet2 promptly with no quibbles.

Jet2 if it’s new to you. British airways are rubbish the last few years and I don’t rate TUI either.

Avoid Love Holidays and On the beach. In fact, stick with Jet2 and you won’t go far wrong

Stick with Jet2 or TUI. There are others that look like tour operators but aren't really.

Some people will recommend booking separately to save money. This can be true if you are not fussy about which airport or flight times. In my experience, I always check the cost of booking separately and package is always cheaper. This is because I want a local airport at a civilised flight time.

Jet2 for the last 10years and never had any issues. Previously used on the beach and love holidays and they were awful, customer service was dire.
remember travel insurance sometimes it’s available through your bank if you have a rewards type account. If not buy it independently and not through the holiday provider as it’s generally cheaper that way.

I also like Jet2, can I ask why you recommend to avoid using on the beach or love holidays? I’ve used them both a fair few times with no issue just curious to know for the future as am looking at holidays again now x

Our last few package holidays have been with Jet 2 and have never had an issue with them.
A few years ago we did a 4 week road trip which took in Canada and USA.We booked everything ourselves but it was hard work and took a LOT of time researching everything.
Last year we did a 3 week USA trip and booked everything through Trailfinders who were brilliant and tailor made our trip to exactly what we wanted.

Many of their holidays are actually on separete bookings for flights and accommodation not a package holiday so not covered by the protections of that.

When I went to Paris I just booked the Eurostar and Hotel separately. I booked directly with the hotel but you could use Booking.com

For a city break, I'd recommend easyJet holidays and BA holidays. They don't have reps to meet you like Jet2, but they're at the end of a telephone if you need them

I've booked through Tui, BA and Jet2 and never had issues. I don't like booking flights and hotels independently in case anything goes wrong.

Jet2 every time for me. Find TUIs customer care poor. Jet2 are fab-look after you every step of the way with staff to help from departure to landing back home. I’ve travelled with them lots of times over the years…never once I have had a bad experience, unlike TUI!

I’ve been really happy with TUI trips and used their planes and their own hotels previously. Really good reps and customer service.

In the last 4-5 years we have booked with Jet 2 holidays, Easy jet holidays, TUI, Virgin Holidays, BA holidays and had no issues with any of them. We now tend to book all separately.
