Malta, October, temperature and clothes

I'm off to Malta soon and have to pack very light. No space for surplus just incase clothes.

I was thinking 3 dresses, 1 skirt, 2 pairs of linen trousers, short sleeve tops trainers, sandals, On holidays I often wear a dress out at night then wear it during again casually during the daytime. Will it bee too chilly for summer dresses in the evening? Do I need a jacket/cardigan? Will trousers be too warm during the day?

February is actually the coldest month... nothing compared to England, maybe around 12 and damp. The kind of cold that gets to your bones! That being said. I wouldn't wear a thick quilted/padded coat, a mid-weight coat and a light scarf. Thick scarf and hat not required. Definitely trousers/jeans as opposed to bare legs x

Super useful, thank you!

Sorry just re-read my message and didn't make the most sense... what i meant was a padded thick coat wouldn't work, nor would heavy hats and scarves. Instead go with mid-weight and a light scarf.

Long day at work, with a clearer mind, let me say it could rain. Equally, it could be clear sky, but either way, chilly. Don't let it put you off, loads of great hotel deals that time of year, with indoor pools. Fofr affordable deals, try ODCYC if you have kids, or Cavalleri which is a bit more central.

If you decide to go, enjoy!

Not a lot gets overwhelmingly busy this time of year, so no. Even the boat trips you'll manage to get tickets there and then. Hope the weather holds out for you!

That being said, some amazing restaurants you might need to book in advance, particularly if a friday or saturday. If there is any particular area youre thinking to go and want some recommendations, let me know.

The weather was glorious. It rained twice for not very long. An umbrella was fine. Coats not needed. I wore shorts, trainers, long linen/cotton dresses and skirts, tops and dresses were short sleeved or sleeveless and I added a light shirt or cardigan in mornings and evenings. It was a great time of year to go. We saw a lot and were able to get around easily and cheaply using taxis Bolt etc...

We got caught out not booking a museum in Valetta later in the week. There was a cruise ship in and I suspect they'd bought up all the tickets!

@bookmarket glad you enjoyed it.
Two weeks until we go, so very slightly cooler, but still nice I hope.

I've just been in Madrid, and took a carry on (not even a trolley; just a tote).

How many nights? We had max temps of 21, with colder nights. I pack very minimal; literally one larger packing cube, with everything rolled.

I wore my black jeans out, with a shirt and jumper, blazer plus lightweight coat. Comfy but smart flats that work for evening.

I packed my black, sleeveless summer midi dress. Wore this most days, with a weightless polyester vintage blouse over, or the shirt I wore out as a jacket, or the jumper/blazer, weather dependent. Comfortable sandals for walking. One cooler day I wore jeans, tee and blazer.

Evenings: jeans, with a black silk shirt, or two other tops. Blazer or coat, plus the smart flats.

I packed a smarter black top to go over the dress, but didn't use.
