Paris hotels - help!

We’re going to Paris for three nights in December and I’m feeling very overwhelmed looking at hotels.

I took DD last year and we stayed in Hotel Chamar which was great, but DH is coming too and they don’t do family / interconnecting rooms sadly. Any recommendations?!

Would ideally like DD to have her own room (she’s 10) or separate sleeping area, but maybe this is a unicorn as also don’t want to spend more than £350 a night.

I’ve heard too many apartment / Airbnb horror stories, so I’d rather stick with a hotel.

Any and all ideas gratefully received!

Citadines have a number aparthotels in prime Paris locations. Price can fluctuate widely but the do offer some 2 bed apartments. You also have the benefit of a kitchen (even if you only use it for that morning cup of coffee) and 24 hour staffed reception.

You're really limiting your options not considering AirBnB, especially as you need more than one bedroom. We've found AirBnB reliably good if you choose properties with lots of 5 star reviews.

Look at chains with executive rooms/suites. I’ve had success with holiday inns in the past with executive rooms that have a separate sitting room with a sofa bed

HelloCheekyCat · 07/10/2025 07:24

Staycity apartments are apartments in a hotel so.you get the toiletries, free coffee but also a.kitchen and separate lounge with sofa bed.
There's two, we stayed in la defense because it.was cheaper but there's a bus stop.right outside and metro.5/7 mins walk away

We’re staying here in half term with 9year old DS. Booked a room with two bedrooms

This looks really nice, sadly for the dates we’re staying it’s out of our budget (€2000+ for three nights).

I know everything is more expensive at the moment but I have to admit I’ve been taken aback slightly at how much hotel rooms cost in Paris these days!

I’ll have a look, I’m just slightly nervous of getting burnt! We’re partly going for our 10th wedding anniversary so I really want everything to go smoothly… Will investigate, thanks!

Hotel Mayfair near the Tuileries has the kind of set up you’re talking about in their family room. Not sure of the price these days; I think I all big city hotels will set you back a fair whack these days. Hope you find what you’re after and that you have a super trip!

Sadly it’s fully booked when we want to stay but thank you for the tip!

OP, l hope you find something suitable. If you can be flexible with dates it can make quite a difference. I for one understand your AirBnB reluctance, it’s nice to have someone on site if something goes wrong; speaking from experience here.

Also, some of the better known booking sites are now working out cheaper for AirBnB for the same property.

DD and I stayed in an Airbnb in Paris a few weeks ago and I have sworn never again. From the hassle with over complicated keys to the constant messages with endless instructions topped off by a four page explanation the day before we left of why I needed to give her a five star review the whole thing was a punish. We thought having a bedroom and living area would give lots of space but it was tiny and cold and you could barely sit on the toilet it was so squashed tween the crap shower and the wall. Expensive too. Hotels or serviced apartments with reception for me from now on.

Exactly. Which is why, work or pleasure I try to opt for Apart Hotels.

I've just booked in here for 3 nights next month Castille Paris – Starhotels Collezione, Paris (updated prices 2025)

StarlightLady · 08/10/2025 11:42

@goldenlabby - The OP has said she wants an hotel not AirB&B.

SiobahnRoy · 08/10/2025 11:47

Have a look at the Astotel chain, they have family rooms including a duplex option in some.

EwwSprouts · 08/10/2025 11:53

Stayed in the Hotel Joe M recently. Very clean, modern, lovely staff. In a great area with lots of little restaurants and bars but not noisy. We walked to all the main attractions.
It has rooms for 3. Ask for room 701 which is a double plus single bed with some privacy.

Airb&b is really hollowing out cities, fine for letting out a room in your home but not the whole place. I much prefer just being able to turn up whenever and being looked after like you get in a hotel. Afraid the last hotel I stayed in in Paris doesn’t do interconnecting rooms otherwise I’d recommend there. An apartotel does seem like a good choice here. Have stayed in a Citidines and found them pretty good, there’s one by Les Halles if I remember correctly, great location

KEH1982 · 08/10/2025 12:06

I’ve stayed in Hotel Wallace twice, we booked a family room for three adults and ended up in two interconnecting rooms and they were great.

nice little hotel serving continental breakfasts and close to a metro stop as well as a few restaurants - all walking distance to the Eiffel Tower.

This has rooms next to each other with a door in the middle out to the corridor that you can lock. It's really central and was great but I went some time ago.

This is where I have booked for next month. I can't wait
