Paris hotels - help!

We’re going to Paris for three nights in December and I’m feeling very overwhelmed looking at hotels.

I took DD last year and we stayed in Hotel Chamar which was great, but DH is coming too and they don’t do family / interconnecting rooms sadly. Any recommendations?!

Would ideally like DD to have her own room (she’s 10) or separate sleeping area, but maybe this is a unicorn as also don’t want to spend more than £350 a night.

I’ve heard too many apartment / Airbnb horror stories, so I’d rather stick with a hotel.

Any and all ideas gratefully received!

This hotel is charming and has lovely suites with separate bedrooms. Very nice are near Canal St Martin too, slightly off the main touristy parts but lovely and easy to access everywhere. Can vouch for it, have stayed here myself with husband and daughter.

This is where I have booked for next month. I can't wait

Ah, that's nice @Belladog1 - it was a while ago but we really liked it and it's very central and cheap for the location.

I like the Astotel chain.

These two hotels each have a connecting room which would be suitable for your needs, and well within your budget. I don't know your dates so you'll need to check whether these specific rooms are available.

Ooh these look good, maybe not quite as fancy as I want this time round - we’re going just after our wedding anniversary - but v useful for next time!

This has rooms next to each other with a door in the middle out to the corridor that you can lock. It's really central and was great but I went some time ago.

This looks gorgeous, but its out of budget for us this time sadly (quoting nearly €3000 for three nights!)

This is also currently on my list - c.£1200 for three nights with connecting rooms. Not super central but we don’t mind walking / using the metro, and it looks like it’s next to a good boulangerie / patisserie (v important for breakfast!)

DD and I stayed in an Airbnb in Paris a few weeks ago and I have sworn never again. From the hassle with over complicated keys to the constant messages with endless instructions topped off by a four page explanation the day before we left of why I needed to give her a five star review the whole thing was a punish. We thought having a bedroom and living area would give lots of space but it was tiny and cold and you could barely sit on the toilet it was so squashed tween the crap shower and the wall. Expensive too. Hotels or serviced apartments with reception for me from now on.

Ugh I’m so sorry that happened to you and your DD. So disappointing and having issues with accommodation really does put a dampener on the whole trip.

I may know your unicorn! I stayed at the Hotel Eiffel Turenne It was booked as a budget conscious choice but turned out to be exceptional - an easy walk from the Metro, 10mins walk to a lovely foodie district for meals, 15mins to the Eiffel Tower, napoleons tomb and the Invalides church at the end of the street… I can’t recommend it enough. It’s three star, but spotless, modern and stylish. Lovely supermarket downstairs for snacks / wine etc. Lots of board games in the lounge for families. The staff were absolutely brilliant throughout the stay. Have just looked and they do have connecting rooms 🙂

I think the Astotel chain is wonderful. We had a family suite when I stayed with dh and dd. The best thing is they do free coffee and snacks in the afternoon and if you’re staying at one, you can call in and have a sit down and coffee at any of them. We stayed here, walked to the Opera easily and thought it was wonderful.
