What have you got planned for the rest of 2025

Travel addicts ahoy!

There was a thread last year that I started about upcoming trips, vague intentions and half-made plans. I thought it was time for a new, slightly different thread.

What have you got planned for the rest of 2025?

So far I've got Liechenstein, the very top of mainland Scotland, a spot of scuba in Gozo (need to check an ear so not going anywhere too far until I know it dives) and, likely, Montenegro. Montenegro was impulsive. A friend seemed sad so I called her and told her I'd go on holiday with her. I don't holiday with people so this is rather uncomfortable but I know she won't be glued to me so that's good.

I live in an idyllic part of coastal Devon so these days I don't travel as much as I did when younger. I'll be visiting Belfast in the Autumn as I'm desperate to visit the Titanic exhibition. Going to Lapland in December with the grandchildren to see Father Christmas and be terrified on a sleigh ride pulled by mad huskies!

Next year I'd like to visit Pompeii, Dublin and Iceland.

MinnieMountain · 09/06/2025 19:42

I’ve added a weekend in Edinburgh with DS to my plans.

Pompei is amazing @Shetlands .

Sunbeds · 09/06/2025 19:45

Vancouver Island. Can’t wait!

Apollonia1 · 09/06/2025 21:05

We were in France skiing in March and a short local break in April.
Bucharest with work in May.
Ikos and Sani in June and Ikos Andalucia in August.
London to visit family at some stage.

I’ve preschoolers, otherwise I would travel more adventureously.

Crushed23 · 11/06/2025 01:18

Love this thread.

My next trip is a road trip to Rhode Island & Boston.

Then Europe in July: London, Belgium (for a festival) and Paris are on the list, but the itinerary is pretty fluid.
Canada in September.
Mexico in November.

Maybe another trip over Christmas/NY.

Deebee90 · 11/06/2025 01:34

So far this year I’ve done short trips to Paris, Slovenia, Venice and Cornwall. My next adventure is a 2 week road trip to France, Switzerland and Italy in august and then in November I’ve got another 2 week trip to the states and doing Nashville and Florida .

Turkey on Saturday for a week relaxing
Oregon and Washington in summer for a road trip/hiking, fly in and out of Seattle.

I’d love to hear more about your trip to Oregon and Washington. Which places are on your itinerary and whereabouts will you be hiking?

Only UK for me this year. Mostly short trips:

  • already been to Bristol x 2 for gigs
  • week in Wales in July (with DC)
  • two trips to outdoor gigs in the summer (Warwick and Essex)
  • Long weekend in Manchester
  • Couple of London theatre trips
  • few days’ solo hiking in the Lakes in autumn

I really enjoyed a long weekend in Manchester a couple of years back. A very underrated city, IMO.

reversegear · 11/06/2025 02:25

We have York, Paris, Cyprus, Hong Kong and the Cotswolds for Christmas!

ZiggyPlaysGuitarrr · 11/06/2025 03:13

I've recently had a week hiking in Scotland with DH.

In July we are going to a festival (camping) with the DC and 2 other families.

In August, a family holiday to Mallorca, followed by a weekend camping with another family fairly close to home.

In September a South coast static caravan break with several other families and then I'm going to Seville on a girls' weekend.

We are going to their sister hotel the Side Star Resort! Hope you have a great time.

Side is one of my favourite places, we were there this time last year.

You must walk into the hold town and have a wander around the harbour and ruins. It’s beautiful x

GreatTheCat · 11/06/2025 23:47

I've only one holiday left it's year, a trip to Boston, NYC and parts of Canada. Already had trips to the Caribbean, to the Azores and a cruise round Egypt, Tanger, Tunisia, Italy and the Greek islands.

Have done Switzerland, Morocco and Germany so far this year and have plans for a UK camping trip, week in Ibiza and 5 weeks travelling round central/South America in July and August. Then I’ll probably spend December and the start of January somewhere warm, probably Indonesia.
