Looking to go in Feb 2026 - my son will be 1 on 22nd and my daughter 3 on 26th, so need plenty of activities etc, whilst also being a nice clean location. Any recommendations please?

Do caravan parks have activities for babies and toddlers? In Feb, unless they are heated, pools will be shut.

By 'upmarket', do you mean expensive, new caravans or no riff raff on site?
There are some nice beaches on the Suffolk and Norfolk coast, but I don't know any specific caravan parks.
I found this link which might help: www.haven.com/holidays/family/baby-toddler

What’s your budget? We often go to holiday parks that have pools and play areas but stay in a lodge so are generally nice. Landal for example.

ARichtGoodDram · 21/05/2025 14:17

Tbh at that time of year I'd only consider Butlins as they have the pool, soft play and indoor mini fun fair for small kids. On a tots week they'll also have lots aimed at small kids.

Plus you can get a chalet rather than a caravan and the extra heating is a plus if the weather is shit.

Lots of other caravan parks don't open until March.

CeaselesslyIntoThePast · 21/05/2025 14:18

Are you worried the park will be full of job dodgers being all riff-raffy?

She probably is. As would I be.

So would I if I’m honest.

Me too. I never considered myself to be snobbish. Until I arrived at Pontins. We endured one night and then came home. Now I accept that it’s okay to have a bar.

A caravan park in February in UK weather is bound to be miserable. Butlins or Centre Parks for the heated pools and on-site activities would make sense.

ginasevern · 21/05/2025 16:27

I would imagine any activities would be most likely seasonal. Do you have to go in February? It could very well be bloody freezing too.

Hoplolly · 21/05/2025 16:30

Most caravan parks are closed from early November to end of March.

Something like this, but maybe slightly better than butlins?

Ilikewinter · 21/05/2025 16:44

There's also Forest holidays and Landel parks but I'm not sure how they are on activities?

Does anyone ever have a second holiday at Pontins, I wonder!

But we had several holidays at Butlins when DS was younger, have seen some negative comments more recently but I think it’s great for kids. Probably best not to go for the cheapest accommodation though.

You’ve not been to Pontins then! They are not the same.

Corgi2023 · 21/05/2025 16:53

Ribby Hall near Preston have toddler breaks. It's chalets but quite nice.

ShinyAppleDreamingOfTheSea · 21/05/2025 16:53

There are a few small scale developments, sometimes on farms, which have indoor pools, games rooms and playgrounds with chalet accommodation but they are probably more aimed at a summer break.

No, Butlins was bad enough for me. Does Pontins still exist?
