Name me an (upmarket) UK holiday park that is good for a 1 and 4 year old?

Looking for a family uk break in July for 5 days and I've still not found 'the one'

We've already been to Hendra, Ladram and Sandymouth but don't really like going to the same place twice.

Things we would love
-indoor kids pool
-possibly heated outdoor pool
-soft play incase it's bad weather
-beach location or a drive to one

  • no butlins
-WiFi needed for work.

Pleas throw your suggestions at me! I don't want a forest style as we are doing CP in October .

MNHQ update: If you’re short on time, here’s a summary of the best UK holiday parks Mumsnetters are recommending on this thread:

😎Retallack Resort, Cornwall

😎Haggerston Castle Holiday Park, Northumberland

😎Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, Isle of Wight

😎Sandy Balls Holiday Village, Hampshire

😎Bowleaze Cove, Dorset

😎Ribby Hall Village

😎Silverlake Dorset

😎Bluestone Wales, Pembrokeshire

😎Potters Resorts, Norfolk

😎Finlake Resort & Spa, Devon

😎Freshwater Beach Holiday Park, Dorset

😎Darwin Forest, Peak District

😎Chesil Beach Holiday Park, Dorset

😎Woolacombe Bay holiday park, Devon (Twitchen House)

😎Kelling Heath Holiday Park, Norfolk

Haggerston? Very close to Alnwick for a day trip to lllidorei and splash park at Berwick

@Misspacorabanne I can't help but wonder if my dislike with hendra was also down to the fact that it peed it down for the entire 5 days we were there 🤣🤣

Woolacombe Sands is also lovely - it doesn’t have soft play or the same amount of stuff as Woolacombe Bay, but is smaller and closer to the beach with pools and an evening kids discos. We rented the cabins there and enjoyed it! https://www.woolacombe-sands.co.uk/

Woolacombe Sands Holiday Park | Closest Park to the Beach!

We are the perfect choice for a wonderful, fun-filled, relaxing holiday in North Devon next to the UK’s best beach, Woolacombe.

Bowleaze cove in Weymouth

WhitegreeNcandle · 09/05/2025 21:11

Twitches house is going for nice caravan park with disco.

saunton sands hotel for upmarket family hotel.

WhitegreeNcandle · 09/05/2025 21:11

Twitchen not twitches!

Watermouth Castle in ilfracombe is also brilliant. It has its own little theme park and rides open for self catering guests outside of the main park opening times, decent pool and it’s not expensive (or it wasn’t back in 2021)

Finlake holiday park is awesome, with an outdoor pool, amazing indoor pool with kids slides, fun water things, flumes etc. play parks for the kids including a covered sandpit with mud kitchen. Activities like archery, kids art stuff available. They also have a spa for the adults and lots of the accommodation has hot tubs.

Probably about a quarter of the price of centre parks/bluestone as well.

The only downside is that it's about 25m to the beach and it's a bit hilly.

Freshwater beach - no soft play but kids activities etc. decent indoor and outdoor pools and has its own beach. There's soft play if you need it up the road at abbotsbury.

Another vote for Finlake

Kelling Heath North Norfolk - try private owners. The indoor pool is a health club gym . Lots to do in the area . Holt down the road. Great place to teach kids to ride a bike . Beautiful woods, nature and heathland. What center parcs pretends to be.

Look up Holbourne - they have a few sites around - a family run site - I've been to Holbourne Nash - great for kids - lovely characters for kids - Sammy the seahorse Larry the lobster - indoor pool - kids club - beach by the side of the site - Highcliffe castle - lovely spot -

Hoburne Naish is lovely but not the least bit upmarket!

Not a holiday park but Bosinver is stunning, has an indoor pool and I think soft play too. It’s close to Eden Project and some fabulous beaches.

Upmarket holiday Park might be an oxymoron

SwanOfThoseThings · 10/05/2025 09:08

Pentewan Sands, not far from Mevagissy. Note it is not dog-friendly (only reason we stopped going!)

HW87 · 28/01/2026 13:32

Where did you pick in the end? Finding this very helpful thread as looking for the same!

miniworry · 28/01/2026 19:03

We went to Ladram bay in Devon in the end and it was lovely! I think as close as you can get to a 5* uk holiday park that still has all the kids bits! @HW87
