Name me an (upmarket) UK holiday park that is good for a 1 and 4 year old?

Looking for a family uk break in July for 5 days and I've still not found 'the one'

We've already been to Hendra, Ladram and Sandymouth but don't really like going to the same place twice.

Things we would love
-indoor kids pool
-possibly heated outdoor pool
-soft play incase it's bad weather
-beach location or a drive to one

  • no butlins
-WiFi needed for work.

Pleas throw your suggestions at me! I don't want a forest style as we are doing CP in October .

MNHQ update: If you’re short on time, here’s a summary of the best UK holiday parks Mumsnetters are recommending on this thread:

😎Retallack Resort, Cornwall

😎Haggerston Castle Holiday Park, Northumberland

😎Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park, Isle of Wight

😎Sandy Balls Holiday Village, Hampshire

😎Bowleaze Cove, Dorset

😎Ribby Hall Village

😎Silverlake Dorset

😎Bluestone Wales, Pembrokeshire

😎Potters Resorts, Norfolk

😎Finlake Resort & Spa, Devon

😎Freshwater Beach Holiday Park, Dorset

😎Darwin Forest, Peak District

😎Chesil Beach Holiday Park, Dorset

😎Woolacombe Bay holiday park, Devon (Twitchen House)

😎Kelling Heath Holiday Park, Norfolk

Bluestone in Pembrokeshire? Don’t think it has soft play on site but plenty in driving distance, and Pembrokeshire coast

ItssssAMeMariooo92 · 09/05/2025 16:48

We are going to white cliff bay next month

We have a hot tub

They have a private beach

On site pools

Mini golf etc

footpath · 09/05/2025 16:49

@miniworry would you recommend Hendra?

miniworry · 09/05/2025 16:49

@suah bluestone is a bit too like center parcs and we are at CP October half term, but thank you!

@footpath it was 'ok' wouldn't say it was a 5* holiday park if I'm honest. The swimming pool has some great flumes but was a bit grimy. I preferred ladram bay.

Haven't been but heard positive things. Went an Away resort but didn't love it.

xmasdealhunter · 09/05/2025 16:51

Retallack in Cornwall (no soft play but easy driving distance to Padstow which has several). Or if you're happy to go over to France, then Dormio Resort Berck-sur-Mer (Holiday Park on the French Opal Coast | Dormio Resort Berck-sur-Mer) is lovely and 50 mins from the Calais Eurotunnel

Thanks @miniworry

Not a holiday park but stayed here with the dc in a family suite and liked it

Thanks @footpath I'll take a look! Trouble is my 4year old DD loves the evening discos 🤣🤦‍♀️

So does mine, yet to find anywhere luxury that has the nightlife my dc want!

PuppyMonkey · 09/05/2025 17:29

Have you tried Potters in Great Yarmouth - luxury and all inclusive great food and kid’s things galore. Including cheesy disco. Actually there’s another resort now too, not sure where it is.

footpath · 09/05/2025 18:08

Potters is on my list & I think fits the bill but I haven't pulled the trigger yet. DH & I don't drink so the all inclusive seems a bit expensive

PuppyMonkey · 09/05/2025 18:17

It’s expensive @footpath but factor in that all your meals and snacks are included every day and the entertainment too - really excellent West End quality shows in the evening etc. I think even if you don’t drink, it works out great value for money.

Thanks @PuppyMonkey

Cofton in Dawlish, Devon.

miniworry · 09/05/2025 19:10

@SpaghettiHettie I think this one was our front runner so far!

miniworry · 09/05/2025 19:11

@heatherwithapee this one looked lovely but the indoor pool is going to be closed the first week of July 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Moonfleet Manor was lovely, but I haven’t been for a while.

miniworry · 09/05/2025 20:47

Potters is still on the adult only concept the week that we would like to go. 😭

Chesil Beach Holiday Park | Caravan Holiday Park in Weymouth

KTSl1964 · 09/05/2025 20:55

Look up Holbourne - they have a few sites around - a family run site - I've been to Holbourne Nash - great for kids - lovely characters for kids - Sammy the seahorse Larry the lobster - indoor pool - kids club - beach by the side of the site - Highcliffe castle - lovely spot -

Misspacorabanne · 09/05/2025 21:00

Woolacombe bay holiday park is nice, and a beautiful area of Devon! They also own twitchen house which is close by, and you can go between the parks, both lovely holiday parks… but I’ve also been to hendra and I thought it was lovely, so perhaps don’t go with my idea! 😂
