Holidays for three adults

I find it incredibly difficult to locate holiday accommodation suitable for me, my husband and my young adult son - who still wants to travel with us. Most hotel options are either for double or twin rooms or family rooms with the beds all together in one room, or some sort of bed settee in the living area. I'm looking for two bed suites or possibly adjoining rooms but can't even work out the search options to identify these. I could just buy two double rooms but that's an expensive option. This seems to me a sector of the travel market that's hugely neglected.

Or book accommodation via booking.com, then sort your own flights. Again, we have gone this option in the past.

A two bedroom suite is often designed to sleep 6 - 2 adults in each room with sofa beds in the living area for two kids. They are highly sought after by families with small children where they can’t have a separate room. You might it cheaper to book two twin rooms and email the hotel to request that they are next to each other rather than pay under occupancy on a room that sleeps six.

i guess that at some point in the future you son will find himself a partner and then he/they will definitely want their own room if they decide to holiday with you.

Two rooms in a hotel is most cost effective. A 2 bed self contained unit within a nice hotel complex will be more expensive as they’re few and far between. I’ve found this numerous times when trying to book for a family of 4.

Just pay for the two rooms, for goodness sake - it's not that big a deal.

We found that 2 bedrooms are a lot less than a 2bed suite.

No adult wants to sleep on a pull out sofa, they are utterly uncomfortable in hotel rooms.

We booked DD her own room since she is 15. Worked extremely well and saved tons of money.

Can i ask, what's wrong with a pull out sofa bed?

I would not, as a grown adult, like to spend a week on a sofa bed -I'm happy to pay for an extra bedroom and so that's the solution I'm looking for.

As he is an adult, you just pay for two rooms. That's it.

Why can't he just have his own room?

Exactly this
some places charge single occupancy for one person in a room so a slight discount or would he like to bring a friend??
I think If you need 2 rooms you have to pay for 2 rooms - no young adult would really want a treble room with parents

Two normal rooms will almost always be cheaper than a two room suite.
