Pool but no sunbeds

Hypothetical question really for an anxious traveller. If you're on holiday and all the sun beds are all taken around the pool, do you still go in the pool and leave you stuff at the side , or do you give up and do something else ?

Do your children sit obediently under an umbrella then? Why do you pay money to sit under an umbrella steeped in chlorine and other people's pee?

Where the hell are you going that people are peeing on sun umbrellas? Perhaps try a different location.

I've been in this situation and they usually have spare beds stashed somewhere. I usually find a member of staff, slip them a tip and ask them to get me out a sun bed. Never fails.

I'd get a villa - villa plus are good. We had a lovely villa last summer with its own pool, sun beds and a lovely shaded area and it was good value.

When DC were young, we went to Sani for few years. All the sun beds were taken by the early morning. Luckily there was always free beds on the beach section though.

Last year we went to Cyprus and our hotel had a system where you could reserve your chosen beds for the day or for the entire duration. It was great! Took all the angst out and no need to rush early to reserve some.

I don't think they're a real person, too coincidental that they're hitting all these tabloid favourite topics successively.

I think they are real but on holiday, alone, feeling hated by all of Europe and feeling bored and lonely (sitting on the floor beside a hotel pool)!

Thank you, some good reassurance and advice .

Yes, clearly, given you seem to be devoting your holiday to posting on mumsnet about how Europe hates you!

You're right nobody ever uses their phones when travelling with family

Oh no wait

Oh sure
but dedicate themselves to starting a mumsnet thread about how Europe hates you? Well I suppose if I was alone and felt Europe hated me and struggled with the appeal of a sunbed over the ground….

We're a family of 3. General reviews of the hotel are okay, but a quite regular comment is that sunbeds get taken very early and there are not enough sunbeds for the number of guests. We're not early risers so wont be running to claim a bed at 7am. I'd be okay leaving my stuff out of the way , but I wasn't sure of the etiquette if you haven't got a bed.

I was worried about this last year as we’re not ones to reserve sun beds all day and like to come and go. So many comments about sun beds wars and people queuing for them from early.

what we found was this was only for the main pool. The other two pools, one right outside our rooms and the other, which I thought was actually the nicest and had a bar etc. always had sun beds free. Managed to get 4 together all the time.

is there more than one pool at the hotel? There may not be an issue at all if there is.
