AI hotels with separate bedrooms

Wantdctobehappy · 27/12/2024 09:06

Getting very frustrated searching for holidays - we have a teenage DSS and toddler DD so really need at least one bedroom with a separate lounge area or two bedrooms. However on all the main holiday sites this doesn’t seem to be searchable and I just keep getting shown a load of ‘family rooms’ with everyone in together, which just wouldn’t work at all for us.

We’d really prefer to go AI and budget is 3-4k, but if we can’t find the rooms we need we may need to rethink.

Can anyone recommend any hotels or a clever way of searching???

We had this set up in Corfu (Grecotel Luxme in Dassia) but we had to get a private villa for it. Which worked very well although I'm. It sure about £££ especially in school holidays. AI resorts with villas on the grounds may be the way to go though.

On Tui you the search defaults to standard rooms then you select the type of room in room upgrades which could be a suite etc, but annoyingly they quite often don't sell all the room types, you may have to contact the hotel directly to upgrade to certain types of suites. So it helps to research hotels separately to the process of booking, Google or on MN, ask for hotels that have come with the room type you're after.

foyc · 27/12/2024 09:21

Sorry I realise that's what you're doing here, just empathising that it's frustrating there isn't an easier way to search!

andHelenknowsimmiserablenow · 27/12/2024 09:24

This is what I find frustrating on bookingdotcom and other sites. It would be so helpful to have an adjoining rooms or suite option in the filter instead of having to search through the options on every hotel offered.
So no help sorry, but watching to see if anyone else can.

immoreexcitedthanthekids · 27/12/2024 09:25

They are few and far between. We ended up switching to two hotel rooms at this point.

Neeenaaw · 27/12/2024 09:27

It’s so annoying with TUI that you can’t search for number of rooms. It makes it so much harder finding a suitable holiday when you have to scroll through endless options until you see something other than family room.
we did end up at an apart hotel that was very nice in Majorca last year which was very new one bedroom with lounge that had sofa beds. Think it was balled Bonaire

That's what we had to do. We had to contact the hotel to ask for rooms next door to each other, it worked out well but it would be so helpful if there were options to also select 2 rooms next to each other if not adjoining at the point of booking.

Clearinguptheclutter · 27/12/2024 09:30

I’ve really really struggled with this in the past and pretty much given up on the idea. I just don’t understand why so many people are apparently fine with four people in one room, it sounds like my worst nightmare

Not AI but we are going to the Melia
Zahara in the Costa de la luz. Not interconnecting but it’s a family suite which is basically two bedrooms next door to each other. But the jet2 website isn’t clear at all and I had to call both jet 2 and the hotel itself to clarify that this was what we were getting.

Clearinguptheclutter · 27/12/2024 09:34

Oh there is a place called Village Heights in Crete which was recommended to me by someone on here which def looks very nice although is up on a hill away from the main resort (there is a shuttle bus down to the beach).

Pineapplewaves · 27/12/2024 09:34

If you find a hotel that you like and click on the rooms tab it will show you all the different room types the hotel has to offer (they show you the cheapest room type by default which is usually the whole family in one room).

Lots of hotels offer a one bedroom apartments where you get one bedroom for the adults and the kids sleep on sofa beds in the living area. Unfortunately at some hotels children over age 12 are classed as adults and have to sleep on a proper bed so you'd need a two bedroom apartment or two rooms (one adult and one child in each).

These have one or two bedroom apartments;
TUI Blue Flamingo Beach, Lanzarote (most TUI Blue hotels have this room type as they are designed for families with young kids).
TUI Suneo El Trebol, Lanzarote
Los Zocos Impressive, Lanzarote

When you look at the hotel on tui/jet 2, you may find you can upgrade to these options, even if the initial room isn't like that. Check all room options for that hotel. Sometimes the extra cost is stupid but with some hotels it isn't too bad. We often do this, as we won't pick anywhere where we are all in one room either.

RichardMarxisinnocent · 27/12/2024 09:37

I've stayed in a one bedroom apartment at the TUI blue Grupotel Turquesa Mar in Cala'n Bosch in Menorca. The one bed apartments are often the default room as I think it's what most of their rooms are. If not, it's easy to change from twin room to apartment when booking with TUI.

WonderingWanda · 27/12/2024 09:42

If you actually select a second room on the tui search Tui the two bed apartments will come up in your search as well as well. You might need to select one adult and one child in each room. We have a teen ds and a dd. They don't want to share. Our last couple of package hols we've done a boys room and a girls room and them the last one we did airbnb 3 bed apartment. The other option is to look for the hotels and book directly with them then book your flights with Tui. I bet if you ask on here for the locations you want snd budget people will have recommendations.

HPandthelastwish · 27/12/2024 09:42

Royal Sun Apartments in Los Gigantes Tenerife, TUI have separate bedrooms, a kitchenette and a huge balcony. It's half board but you can just charge drinks and ice creams etc and any other food to your room and pay at the end. Shop with fresh bread on site s you have the option to make little one food in the room and store your own drinks etc

It's up the hill from the main touristy area but there's a shuttle to Siam Park and snorkeling at the beach and the harbour for trips or kayak / paddle board rental

helpmyback · 27/12/2024 09:43

We stayed at El Trebol in Costa Teguise all one or 2 bed apartments with a if family group.

It was nice for a budget break but far from luxurious but the rooms were fine and clean. The food was good. Drinks less so.

Try searching for "aparthotel"

ThePoshUns · 27/12/2024 09:45

I think you'll struggle to get AI and 2 bedrooms on your budget, you might be better looking at self catering.

CeeJay81 · 27/12/2024 09:54

We recently stayed at paradise park in Los christianos, We had a 2 bedroom family room. It was well within your budget but maybe over budget in school holidays. Loads to do in tenerife for kids too.

notnorman · 27/12/2024 10:35

Travel agent will sort this for you

fruitbrewhaha · 27/12/2024 10:37

Two bedrooms?

Lovethatforyouhun · 27/12/2024 10:39

Ibiza Aura Tui and Magic Life Cala Pada

Muchtoomuchtodo · 27/12/2024 10:43

Arum Barut in Turkey, near Side. We went there with Jet2

Their Residence rooms have a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a sofa bed in the living area.

Might be above your budget but it will depend on when you want to travel. It’s a fabulous hotel.

Pigeonqueen · 27/12/2024 10:48

Many of the Tui Blue, Magic life and sensatori hotels have 2 bedrooms. (The sensatori one’s in Turkey aren’t listed as having 2 beds but when you look at the room floor plans they clearly are).

widebrimmedhatstand · 27/12/2024 11:00

We had this with the Marbella in Corfu and the Iberstar Bourganville Playa in Tenerife.

TartanMammy · 27/12/2024 11:15

Usually if it's described as 'one bedroom apartment' it's got a separate bedroom area. Rather than 'family room' which is all squeezed in together.

We've never had a problem with finding this. Usually with jet2. If you can share your destination perhaps we can suggest some hotels that would work.

coronafiona · 27/12/2024 11:33

A family room at spice hotel turkey is what you are looking for. The rooms adjoin by a little hallway but have their own balcony and bathrooms. Absolutely brilliant and a lovely place.
