Holiday cottage welcome pack

I realise im
sounding massively spoilt but I’m really disappointed with my holiday cottage.

the main thing that annoyed me from the outset was the welcome pack, or lack theereof.
There was a little packet with
2 teabags
2 coffee sachets
4 uht milk sticks
2 sugar sachets
4 lotus biscuits

not even a pint of actual milk in the fridge.

what would you expect as a minimum? I’ve never had this small amount if
aruff. I was rather hoping for at least a small bottle of wine and/or a little pack of supermarket own biscuits.

am I being a spoilt brat?

ih and the internet is utterly hopeless, the telly needs reboot g on an hourly basis and the oven is at least 30 years old. It’s not as wide as a frozen pizza!!

I guess an iron/ironing board is a low enough expense and lasts many years, so if getting one forestalls even a couple of negative comments a year, why not?

Ha @SheilaFentiman I have horror memories of my child pouring a box of cereal all over the carpet. So I went to get hoover and there was about four dogs inside it. So I always make sure the one I leave guests is clean, in the event they wish or need to use it, under no circumstances should they be forced to

I provide an iron and ironing board in our gîte (it's one of the things you have to have for your star rating) and I thought no one will use that! Until Mrs Guest came to tell me the iron had broken and could I give her another one...

There is also a hoover- occasionally used by conscientious dog owners. Again needed for the star rating- I check it at every change over, rarely needs emptying.

I stock the kitchen with a selection of cleaning products (surface, bathroom and toilet cleaner) and washing up liquid, enough dishwasher tablets for the stay and half a dozen washing tablets. Plus kitchen roll, cling film, foil and a new sponge and dishcloth.

Food wise there is salt and pepper, cooking oil and a herb garden. Jars with individually wrapped tea bags, coffee, brown and white sugar.

All the sinks have hand wash and the loos 3 rolls each.

As a "welcome gift" I leave a basket of veg from my garden and a bottle of the (nice) local wine. There might be homemade jam or chutney as well.

Dogs get a jar of treats, dog bowls and poo bags.

It's lovely if guests do strip the beds and run the hoover over, but I don't ask them too. I do ask them to sort the recycling as they make it- made easy with clearly marked bins- as sorting out tins and bottles from a mixed bin containing, say, left over food and nappies crawling in maggots after days at 35+ is revolting voice of experience

BTW- when it says "service charge" on an invoice from Airb&b, that's not a cleaning fee- it's Air's commission.
If there is a cleaning charge, it will be called a cleaning charge!

I can’t imagine not packing tea/coffee/milk and having a plan for the first evening’s meal on a self catering holiday.

Having a holiday home for over ten years we don’t add wine anymore some people don’t drink it all or leave it,I used to spend £10.00 on a bottle, also can be seen as a bribe. We leave the basics tea coffee, milk sugar biscuits salt pepper vinegar oil, loo roll, hand soap bin bags hand wash, dish cloths pan scrubs kitchen roll. If it’s in the pics you offer it. Also if you haven’t got anything like milk, it’s because we’ve actually been away too or no ones been in for a few weeks, we don’t all live nearby. And it is self catering after all.
