Nice hotels in Tenerife

Can anyone recommend a good 4/5* hotel in Tenerife for October time please? Adults travelling with a teen. Budget around 3.5k. Preferably not really huge, but with good pools, and clean/modern, with transfer under 1 hour? Entertainment not an issue, great if there is a nearby town / waterpark to visit. Thank you very much wise Mumsnetters!

Bahia del duque

DragMeOutOfIt · 27/07/2024 18:21

Currently staying in sunwing Fanabe beach. It's quite big but not as big as some I've stayed in. It's close to Siam water park and is in Costa adeje so only 20 mins from the airport by taxi.

CosmicLove · 27/07/2024 18:21

Sandos san blas which I think is now a Barcelo

SophiaLaB · 27/07/2024 18:23

Have a look around Costa Adeje. Tacande gold level is nice.

CalamityJii · 27/07/2024 18:31

My favourite hotel in Tenerife is Puerto Palace, but if your kids are young I probably wouldn't recommend it, it's pretty peaceful and relaxed.

Stayed at Bahia sunlight, larger but has multiple restaurants etc. very multinational in clientele, lots of Spanish too (not so many Brits or Germans when we were there)

Thank you everyone, I will have a look at your suggestions!

Royal hideaway Corales suites - we stayed in family bit and had 2 bed room with own pool. Lovely! Nice village short walk for seaside eating

Lovetotravel123 · 28/07/2024 15:47

Hotel Botanico is lovely. We have stayed twice. It has a tropical garden and outdoor pool, plus a very pleasant spa. Breakfast is amazing and there are lots of good restaurants within walking distance.

minipie · 28/07/2024 19:56

Baobab suites is nice and modern. Also has a good games/sport area with a cafe for teens. But is a way from the beach andmain stretch of restaurants etc.

Another vote for Hotel Botanico, loved it there

We liked the Iberostar Bouganville Playa - excellent food, selection of pools, few minutes from the beach and 15 mins from the airport and Siam Park. Central Costa Adeje so very easy to get around.

TeaOrCoffeeOrHotChocolate · 28/07/2024 20:06

Anthelia Iberostar in Costa Adeje.

Can do breakfast only, half board or all inclusive. No annoying wristbands you just give your room number.

Right on the beach. Closest is Fanabe but playa de duque is very near too.

We liked Royal Sun Resort in Los Gigantes, up the hill from the main town, a good beach for snorkeling and the marina doing various boat rides and kayak / paddle boarding, it's a good relaxing hotel with fantastic views and large balcony's. We went half-board but they keep a running tab for you for lunch / snacks / drinks (and they were very liberal with alcohol servings). We went via TUI and there were trips direct from the hotel but the main bus terminal is nearby so great for solo galavanting around the island or getting to Siam Park. Rooms came with a full kitchenette and reasonably priced shop on site, supermarkets nearby too, a great buffet restaurant and a fine dining one too.

We stayed at the Marylanza in October last year. Lovely hotel with great food. It's in Las Americas but far enough away from the strip. Also walking distance to Los Cristianos.

Lovethatforyouhun · 30/07/2024 17:38

I second Royal hideaway Corales suites

Ineedaholidayyyy · 30/07/2024 17:46

The area of Costa Adeji has everything you need. There is plenty of excellent 4 and 5 star hotels to pick from , nice beaches, Siam Waterpark, short transfer time. We stayed at the Bouganville Play, but I think all the Iberostar hotels in the area have a great reputation.

Funkyslippers · 30/07/2024 19:52

We're going to Gran Oasis near Playa De Las Americas (about half an hour walk). I'm very fussy about hotels and this looks really good

ffsgloria · 30/07/2024 20:01

Thanks so much everyone, I will have a look at these other suggestions! I'm pretty fussy about hotels too @Funkyslippers

I would also recommend this hotel. It’s in the North of the island, which I prefer but is very different to the main tourist area

Titsywoo · 30/07/2024 20:36

We really liked Gran Melia Palacio de Isora but it is not in a great location if you don't have a hire car. However if you do it is a lovely place to stay. We stayed Red Level which is adult only (over 16s) and you get breakfast included for all red level - we didn't think the AI was worth it. We drove out to eat a lot for dinner or went to a lovely local Italian near the hotel. We usually ate lunch in the resort (there are 7 restaurants).

seven201 · 30/07/2024 22:09

Another vote for Anthelia Iberostar in Costa Adeje. We went in may half term. Short transfer, near to Siam water park. Great pools and amazing buffet (we did half board, which was perfect for us).

StressedEric · 30/07/2024 22:25

GF Victoria has a lot on for older kids
another vote for Red Level at the Gran Melia
look also at the ritz Carlton Abama villas
Iberostars in Adeje are close to Siam park which my teens loved

hiddeneverythin · 30/07/2024 23:19

Landmar Costa Los Gigantes. Loved it so much we are going back. A high end four star

Thinkpositivethoughts1 · 31/07/2024 19:32

Hard Rock Cafe in Costa Adeje. We went one October with our teenage sons. It’s fabulously clean. There are a choice of 4 swimming pools.
There are some good restaurants just outside the hotel; they became our preferred option.
The buffet breakfast is fabulous; so much choice; probably the best I’ve seen.
