Packing cubes - great idea or hype?

I have been hearing about these packing cubes. Are they a great idea or just something to waste my money on & take up extra space in the suitcase.

Going on our first holiday since 2019 🥳 ☀️ and wondering whether I should try these.

Advice on type & size would be appreciated too (so many on Amazon!). 2 adults on a 2 week cruise (so no weight limit).

Goodness, just seen this is still going!

I Bought a set from Amazon and really pleased with them. The cabin didn’t have drawers so they were ideal to store underwear and swimwear in on a shelf. When I got home I stored the swimwear in one so when we go away this November, I can just pick it up & pop it into the case.

By the way, the cruise was wonderful as it was the first holiday on our own for 29 years! Very romantic and relaxing. 🤗

Love them. I have a set of compression cubes for travelling and a set of lightweight ones that were about £3 from Ikea, which are great for washing delicates; packing rolled up socks; quick first aid bag; cables bag… all sorts
