February short break. Malaga?

We are thinking about a short 3 day break in Europe in February just DH and me. We would be flying from Glasgow so are really limited with the areas that airlines fly to at that time of year. We can fly to Malaga and wondered if anyone would recommend here for February? Is there enough to do for 3 nights?
I would like to go to Seville however it's another bus then two hour train ride from Malaga airport so I think that's out for us unfortunately. Thanks.

Malaga is lovely- we went for a week in feb fully expecting to have to travel elsewhere to see and do stuff. But we didn't, there was plenty to occupy us in Malaga.

Weather was fab - low 20s all week, no rain. T-shirt weather and the kids swam in the sea every day. Was lovely to sit outside for lunch and drinks. Bit chilly at night though.

Cold that time of year
Canary Islands will be great all year round

Yeah I'm not that bothered about lying in the sun @annoyance888 so am not banking on the weather at all. I don't love the Canaries although the weather will be much nicer there in Feb.

Malaga is great for a weekend, we've been a few times late Jan/early Feb as we have friends near there and stop on the way and only once been unlucky with the weather. It rained the entire time, but we still found enough to do to keep us busy.

Mostly lovely tapas and nice wine....

My DFIL lived just outside Malaga for many years. We went every year in either Oct or Feb half term and never had bad weather. One year we went for New Year and walked through snow in the Sierra Nevada on NY day and sat on the beach in full sun on 2nd Jan! Malaga has a lovely old town with Moorish and Roman ruins, the Picasso museum if you are into art and a lovely harbour area. Lots of great bars and tapas places. If you want to go further afield lots of nice white villages in the hills or take public transport for a full day trip to Granada or Seville.

@pharmachameleon Ryanair do.

pharmachameleon · 13/05/2024 20:12

Thanks @ColourByNumbers88 didn't realise that. I checked on Google flights and for some reason Ryanair flights didn't show.

I went at Feb half term this year and had been before at the same time about 6 years ago. Both times we had lovely warm and sunny weather so I don’t think it’s that unusual. Obviously it could rain but I don’t think it would ever be as cold as Scotland!

No problem. I've been many times to Malaga and 3 times to Seville. I love both cities. Personally I'd go to Seville while they are doing that direct flight because multiple airlines go to Malaga and there's more chance of you being able to go back there. Great options for hotels in both.

We were there just last week and if you're at all interested in cars or fashion I'd recommend this museum:
https://museoautomovilmoda.com/

There's definitely enough to do for 3 days.

inicio - Museo del Automóvil y la Moda de Málaga
