Legoland Billund and Lego House

I would like to take my family of four - two adults and two children to Legoland in late August 2024.
I'm thinking we'd probably we want a week away to explore a bit of Denmark too. I have started saving but have no idea how much we would need. For anyone who has done a similar holiday, roughly how much did it cost please?

If the children are into climbing around on ropeways and general unstructured outdoor stuff that gets their hands and knees dirty, then a day at WOW Park is also worth considering. It's a rustic adventure playground type of place - the complete opposite of a shiney plastic Disney theme park. On a sunny day take your own picnic and enjoy the outdoors (so not really a place for a rainy day).

Oops! Just realised that I've already mentioned WOW Park on this thread. There are so many Legoland/Billund threads it's hard to keep track.

For anyone looking for accommodation, the Zleep Hotel has been renamed Billund Airport Hotel - and sadly the prices have also been rejigged (upwards) but it is still very convenient and is right next to the airport (5 mins walk) if you're arriving on the late flight in to Billund from the UK.

We've booked an end of school trip for July. Via the legoland website there was a good deal for the airport hotel and 2 day tickets to legoland.

Does anyone know about upgrading a day ticket to a season pass at the park? When I search I find I can do this in California but uncertain about Billund!

Yes you can. At least you always could - I haven't been there so often this season.

We’re considering doing this trip in October half term. Has anyone else gone at this time of year? Is it too cold?!

We've done Halloween at Legoland Billund. As the Danes say "There's no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes." As long as you're prepared for autumnal weather it is fine. Obvioulsy weather can change from day to day, but in general October in Denmark is no colder than England. Billund is a really small and compact town - you can walk from the hotels to the attractions in a matter of minutes. Lego House is no problem as everything is indoors.

@FizzWhiz I am looking at Legoland now ... just wondering how your trip went and if you have any recommendations please?

@mumneeds we had such a lovely time in Billund. We stayed at Lalandia which was great fun. We were lucky to get accommodation about a 15 minute walk from the Aquadome as that site is big!
We did one day at Lego House and one day at Legoland. We didn't bother buying wristbands at Lalandia as we wouldn't have had time to use them as there was so much to do. For anything extra that we wanted to do e.g. the Sky Rider we just paid on top. We felt if we bought wristbands we would haved stayed at Lalandia rather than exploring Billund. For our family it was the right choice, but that doesn't suit everyone.
We went to Wow Park too which was great fun, but definitely wear long sleeves and trousers. I was very bruised afterwards!
We were there for a week but it went so quickly. Yes it was expensive and I don't really feel like I saw anything of Denmark despite us doing a lot of walking around Billund, but it was great. I'd really recommend it.
