Passports!!

Has anyone ordered new passports recently? How long did they take to come after sending documents In?
Also I don't have contact with my parents they've asked for my mums birth certificate which I can't get. So I've written a cover letter proving her name, date of birth and passport number. Do you think this will be okay?

Just got approval emails for our 3 passports. Super quick, hopefully will have them with soon

Update on mine, applied the 11th march, just had interview this morning and email 30 mins later to say its been approved and being printed, so 3 and a bit weeks for me for a first adult passport,

It didnt get updated again until i had passed my interview,

Asked me about family and partner, what streets do i take to get to the nearest shop, whats near my house, what streets do i take to get to my dcs school, can i describe her uniform and the school logo, amd whos her headteacher

Asked me about my job and how long had i worked there, it felt quite relaxed and just like a chat really, took about 20 minutes

They do seem to be super quick at the moment. Applied for mine on 20th March and had an email yesterday saying it's just being printed.

I am also applying for Irish passports and had to send off for my deceased Dad's birth cert and that came very quickly too.

We went to the post office yesterday to renew ours and were told it could take up to ten weeks.

They have to tell you 10 weeks as that's the longest it should take. In many cases it's much faster

That's what we thought,I'm in no hurry because we've got nothing booked.

I'm in no hurry to see the state of my passport photo either.
