Las Vegas with a 8 month old

Would you do it?! It's for my partners 30th birthday. We don't want to leave our 8 month old at home but if we have to we have to. We were thinking 4 nights... we wouldn't go out mad drinking or casinos etc .. is it worth it?

Erm no. Not a place you take an 8 month old to.

We're taking DSS16 this year and staying south of the strip for 5 nights.

We've been before and we're not interested in the nightlife or gambling. We know how to avoid the worst of the seediness. Two of those days will be long day trips out to Zion Canyon and Death Valley and the rest will be seeing the ridiculousness of the hotels.

Definitely wouldn't take a younger child though.

I wouldn't rule out a 4 day trip for just the two of you. You won't adjust to Nevada time much so the jet lag won't be that bad. Just take an extra day off work to recuperate when you get home.

There's not a lot to do apart from casinos and drinking!

All the shows are overpriced compared to major other US and UK cities.

I agree with a few other posters... Vegas is a tacky, dangerous lowbrow cesspool.

Mind made up- thanks!

No way. I've been 5 times and wouldn't dream of taking my kids. You won't be able to do anything with the baby

Mind made up- thanks. Is that to go or not to go @HunkieDorie? Wink
