Just that. But not London, Brighton, Bristol, Exeter, Oxford or Cambridge 😬

Preferably within 3 hours of the midlands with interesting some things to see.

Asking here because MN is so good for holiday suggestions!

Peak District. Beautiful.

bakewellbride · 16/08/2022 20:37

Bakewell. I got married there (as my username gives away) and it's so idyllic and beautiful.

Pieceofpurplesky · 16/08/2022 20:37

Chester. Beautiful city, walk the walls, walk by the river and through the park. Loads of cafes and bars.

We stayed at the cavendish for our anniversary but the Devonshire is nice too.

St Donats, Wales.

We have stayed a number of times at Hide. They have a shepherd hut, cabans (with good shower facilities) and a cabin. We spend our days walking the welsh coastal path, stopping off at pubs along the way. Even in winter the accommodation is cosy because you have a wood burner. They also have a masseuse that visits should you wish. No kids are allowed. Bliss.

oooh, please check out the Tawny Hotel. It’s amazing, the most romantic place.

Thefailinghousewife · 16/08/2022 21:15

The Tawny

Lake District! So many gorgeous and romantic places to eat and drink, lovely hotels, nice day trips, walks/swimming if that’s your thing, ice cream, log fires, and the most spectacular scenery. A real change of pace if you’re a town dweller.

Blueberrycreampie · 16/08/2022 21:17

How about Hampshire - somewhere like Lymington? You've also got the New Forest on your doorstep. We used to take our caravan to the NF and I absolutely loved it.

Hobbesmanc · 16/08/2022 21:25

Chester. Just voted most attractive city in the world apparently. Not sure about that but it does have the worlds best B and B according to trip advisor. And plenty to do and see. Great eating too. If you can't get in the B and B try the McDonald hotel. Or the Grosvenor lol. Love the Opera house for dinner. Book a roof top table.
