Would you pay £400 for a room upgrade to have a separate bedroom to children?

As title says. Either all in one open room or £400 will get a wall and door to separate us for the week.

Depends on age of children and if you can afford if

Marblessolveeverything · 01/05/2022 09:25

Yep. I would want some privacy.

It depends on age of kids. If they are really little then what will you do once they are asleep?? It would be hard to sit and chat. But if you are happy to read or watch stuff using headphones it could work.

We've done it with older kids and just gone to bed slightly earlier a couple of nights and they have gone to bed slightly later a few nights and it’s been fine

CeeceeBloomingdale · 01/05/2022 09:32

Yes I think that’s reasonable. We have a tween and teen and always pay more to get a suitable sleeping arrangement as they won’t share a bed.

gunnersgold · 01/05/2022 09:36

Yes ! That's cheap. ,usually you pay double !

Grumpybutfunny · 01/05/2022 09:38

Yup we've paid more than that before. This year the hotel doesn't offer it and regret not looking into it further

CeeJay81 · 01/05/2022 10:11

I would, qe never book a holiday with the set up of having 4 of us in one room. It means no-one can relax and get much sleep. Although a lot of places it's standard when booking as a family.

Whohashiddenthebiscuits · 01/05/2022 10:11

Depends on the age of the children and whether you can easily afford it. Our eldest DDs always had their own rooms when teenagers which suited everyone. However we wouldn’t have given them own rooms when they were under 12 just from a security perspective.

CornishGem1975 · 01/05/2022 10:16

Yes, I would depending on ages.

Findahouse21 · 01/05/2022 10:18

100%. I would rather go on half as many holidays but have a luxury experience while there, and that includes being as/more comfortable than at home while I sleep.

nearlyspringyay · 01/05/2022 10:18

Yep, always do

BakeryChaney · 01/05/2022 10:24

Definitely book two separate rooms - it's not really fair otherwise on the children as developmentally they need privacy but as adults so do you! Get the wall and door for £400 and I don't say that lightly as £400 is a lot of money to us! Definitely don't share a room all together unless you actually want to.

Xmasbaby11 · 01/05/2022 10:30

Yes, totally worth it for me! I'd hate to only have one room for a whole week

Svara · 01/05/2022 10:30

No, I wouldn't pay that. I'm a sole parent though, so have always shared a room with my DS, now almost 16, we just change in the bathroom.

Sunnytwobridges · 01/05/2022 11:22

Definitely, I hate sharing rooms with kids.

Mrsmch123 · 01/05/2022 12:34

yip defo worth it imo. No creeping around when they are in bed and gives you more space overall. It's hard living on top of each other.

RandomQuest · 01/05/2022 12:40

Absolutely yes. If I didn’t have the £400 I genuinely wouldn’t go. It’s a non negotiable for us.

hopeishere · 01/05/2022 13:45

Absolutely!

PegasusReturns · 01/05/2022 13:47

God yes! I’d want privacy and so would teh DC

Ladyoftheprom · 01/05/2022 13:47

Absolutely

Frenchfancy · 01/05/2022 13:53

Why do these threads never mention sex? All in one room = no sex. Separate rooms = holiday sex

We are a once a week type of couple, but holidays are different. £400 is a bargain!

TakeMeToKernow · 01/05/2022 13:54

In a heartbeat.

titchy · 01/05/2022 13:55

We all shared till dcs were about 12 and 10 then got separate rooms.

NoSquirrels · 01/05/2022 13:56

Do you have £400 to spend on something?

Would you rather spend it on privacy on holiday, or something else?
