After weeeks of waiting they have finally approved DD passport.... how long normally until it gets printed and dispatched?

For those of you who are due to travel soon…I was advised by HMPO on Thursday that once you are within two weeks of your expected date of travel, you become eligible to upgrade your application to fast track. Apparently this new rules was implemented last week.

Mine was Peterborough. Apples 4 March, identify confirmed 6th March, docs sent 15 March, confirmed received 29 March, 8th April passport application approval, received the passport 12th. Hope that helps x

I got the identity confirmed on the 11th so maybe I'm just right behind you? 😭😭😭 it is not even approved yet... and it is the 16th

I really really hope so. The last bit has been quick for us it was the first stages that dragged. Before they started cutting off the phone calls I spoke to someone who said if it’s not sorted nearer the time I could ring up and ask them to put note on the system to move it on more quickly. Not sure if that helps if you can’t get through? Really really hope you get it ASAP. Logically you should be right behind us so hopefully after the bank holidays xxx

Just called them and they said the examiners don't work Bank holidays ... so need to wait till Tuesday... it is terrible honestly ... I don't know what else to do .. we booked this holiday on my daughters dual passport and never expected it to take so long.. so now instead of having her dual passport we have nothing at all..

Oh I’m so so sorry that is so stressful. Fingers crossed the last bit will be quick for you like it was for us (compared to the long wait we had on the first parts). I would call them Tuesday first thing and see what they can do. I really hope you get it sorted it’s so stressful x

Peterborough are so slow honestly I have called several times and emailed 3 times. Waiting for a call back today but hoping to get the passport by the end of this month/.. I don't see any hope 😭

We applied online to Peterborough to renew my 19 year old DD3's passport on 1st April and the new one arrived this morning.

We were changing from her child's passport to her first adult one as she is going on a year abroad with university and her existing child's one would have expired during it, which wouldn't have been a great idea.

I honestly think this upgrade thing is a joke because they replied once and stopped replying to my emails. I have sent them the tickets everything. But no replies. Why having this service if it is not gonna be useful?
