Holidays
Would you rather....

Go on a luxurious holiday in the Uk or go on a cheapie package holiday abroad?
We have 1k for a week in June for 2 adults and 2 kids and can surprisingly get a cheap week away self catering for that. Somewhere two star in somewhere like Majorca. Probably would not be too close to the beach for that price and very basic.
Or would you prefer to use the 1k and stop somewhere fairly luxurious in the UK with access to swimming pool and facilities?
Seen a gorgeous place in Derbyshire in a beautiful cottage with hot tub, fluffy dressing gowns, kids activities etc
I hate flying so trying to persuade DP to stay in Uk whereas he wants to go get some sun!

Personally, I’d take the £1K, get cheapo flights to Nice, rent an AirBnB in the old town and go swim in the sea at Villefranche

Abroad. Even the most basic B and B in a foreign city or resort would be more interesting than a U.K. holiday. The language, the food, the scenery, the weather….

Abroad , weather , experience for the kids.
Go somewhere you haven't been before. You could easily go through that in the UK for nothing special.

Abroad. I've spent the last three years holidaying at home. It's time to travel again.
Guaranteed sunshine, and experiencing a different culture.

UK, but not Derbyshire and not interested in hot tub or fluffy dressing gowns! I'd just go for a really nice self-catering house in Devon or Cornwall.

Uk. But I'm not bothered by weather. There are amazing places to see in the UK if not bothered by a bit of rain. But if you're the sunbathing type then go abroad

If flying is the issue, get the eurostar somewhere warmer! I used nectar points a few years ago which reduced the cost.
A cheap place abroad IS likely to be a long way to the beach, shops or any basics, so unless the hotel has everything you need, you'll spend alot more getting to and from the things you want to do. You can get decent places abroad though for cheaper than in the UK.

Looking at tui website, I'd go abroad.. there are some options there that I'd be happy with for just over a grand. Protur azul Apartments in cala bona being one of them. Not far from beach and resort centre and you can use all the facilities across road at the sister hotel.

It depends. If you want to reliable good weather go abroad.
If you're not bothered by risking rain, stay in the UK. So many good things to see in Britain and everything is so easy with lots of choice of different styles of food.

Abroad, although we do UK holidays too going abroad is always more of a deal to me.
