Greece - luxury hotel with teens

Bellini12 · 25/01/2022 19:48

DH and I have some big birthdays coming up so wanted to treat ourselves and 2 x teen girls to a luxury hotel. Don’t mind where in Greece (for July). Those that I have looked at on Tui look nice but trip advisor reviews say more like 3/4 star and mediocre food etc.
Ideally want accommodation so the girls have their own room or at least a partition. We don’t all want to be squashed in one room on top of each other.
Looking for a sandy beach close by, maybe half board with a few activities.
Any ideas or recommendations?

Ikos! It’s all inclusive but amazing - proper restaurants and branded alcohol. Loads of free activities included as well. There’s one in halkidiki and one in corfu

MrsH51 · 25/01/2022 19:51

We loved Marbella Nido Suites with private pool room in Corfu. Unfortunately not sandy beach but plenty of nice beaches nearby and also on bus route into Corfu town for evenings out.

Bellini12 · 25/01/2022 20:08

OMG just looked at Ikos - looks incredible but the prices were almost double what I was originally thinking of (& teens still in the room!).

Marbella Niro looks gorgeous too but rooms don’t sleep 4 (& some sites say ‘adults only’. Thanks anyway.

Ahhhh yes I overlooked the part about your teens sorry! Have also stayed at the Marquise in Kalithea, Rhodes which was quite nice too and definitely allows children but it has been quite a few years since our stay!

Fedupofballs · 25/01/2022 22:19

Is the beach a must? We’re looking at Eleonas in Crete for 2023, if you got one of the suites with hot tub/pool that could work?

fuzzwuss · 26/01/2022 06:22

I am very interested in these answers as am looking for something the same. Friends of ours recommended Ikos but they went in Autumn where the prices seem to be more humane. We have already been to Pilot beach, which had a lot of activities (group tennis lessons for kids and teens, organised football matches ) but I think it is fair to say it was more 4 star where the food was concerned. Beach and pools though amazing. Some of the grecotel hotels look nice, and I also went to the Neptune in Kos.

We’ve also been to La Marquise in Rhodes with teens (a few years ago). I’d go back. Rooms were lovely, activities on site and close to waterpark

Bellini12 · 26/01/2022 20:51

I just can’t get beyond the sleeping arrangements!

The Marquise looks like it does a nice family suite, but that means the teen girls basically sharing a sofa bed in the lounge. There’s no way they would be up for that! Plus you are paying top notch for it.

Most other places just include a couple of beds or a sofa bed in the same room. Is this what everyone does? This is why we always revert back to villas/apartments. Or do separate bedrooms in hotels exist , you just have to hunt for them?

Two rooms cost a similar amount to the family suite I seem to remember

girlywhirly · 27/01/2022 11:17

Have a look at Island Blue hotel in Pefkos, Rhodes; they have just what you want accommodation wise, but I think you’d be very lucky to get what you want this summer. Their family rooms have a main room with en-suite shower room and a kitchenette, and a separate twin bedded room with it’s own en-suite shower room, those rooms have a big balcony with table and chairs as well. The sister hotel next to it may have some too.

The reason I say you’d be lucky is because it’s very popular for weddings, and some of them may have been carried over from last year.

Twizbe · 27/01/2022 11:33

Have a look at mark Warner holidays. You can get interconnecting rooms at their Rhodes hotel.

fuzzwuss · 27/01/2022 11:55

The Pilot Beach in Crete had family rooms, there was one room with a double bed, (also the TV and a sort of lounge area) then a separate bedroom with two single beds, a kind of mini kitchen in the hallway. Also the Neptune Resort on Kos had a separate bedroom. As do a lot of the Grecotel ones.

Elounda Bay Palace in Crete - www.eloundabay.gr/

It's an hour away from Heraklion, which is really nice too. More lively for your teens! And the Ibis Styles hotel in Hereaklion has 2 room suites where you'd be in a super king and two singles for your daughters in the other (big) room if you wanted to add a couple of nights there - the food and bars there are gorgeous.

Domes resorts have villas

Teens could share a room separately in a hotel?

Toanewstart22 · 27/01/2022 12:08

ikos is the less luxurious version of Sani

sani is exquisite
The beach is Caribbean esque

Bellini12 · 27/01/2022 17:45

Thanks for these tips. I’ve looked at a couple of them already and the room options didn’t come up so they must be already sold out. I like the idea of having a kitchenette too.

Teens can’t share a room separately as one needs to be 18 (eldest will have just turned 16).

BigSandyBalls2015 · 27/01/2022 17:49

Nobody will check their age, just ask for rooms near each other. Mine had their own room at 16 (twins).

BigSandyBalls2015 · 27/01/2022 17:49

If anyone does query, which is very unlikely, say you and DH are sharing with one DD each.

PadBurnup · 27/01/2022 17:50

Not been but the The Peligoni Club might suit.

PrimroseBed · 27/01/2022 17:51

Was coming here to say Sani, like PP. They definitely have family suites with multiple bedrooms.

CrimbleCrumble1 · 27/01/2022 18:08

Daios Cove, you can do half board or all inclusive.

Interesting! I thought that wouldn’t be an option.

In all honesty, I would prefer us to be sharing an accommodation so we can hang out after dinner etc but for them to have their own room to retreat to/privacy.

I find so many sites hard to navigate with sometimes little info on the rooms.

OP posts:
VanCleefArpels · 27/01/2022 21:09

We have typically done the hanging out thing in our (parents) room or outside at a bar or whatever then teen kids gone to their own room - nearby- it’s never been an issue
