Heated outdoor pool, in Europe, in May

Searching for the impossible 🙄 but my kids are skinny little things and they just cannot handle an unheated pool (even in August heat).

If anyone has any suggestions of hotels with (outdoor) heated pools I'll happily check them out. If anyone wants to look at our ideal holiday list below you are welcome to join me in the madness 😂😂😂

Flight 4hrs or less
On the beach (Sandy)
Heated outdoor pool
Ideally 4/5 star
Less than 90 mins (ideally less than 60) transfer from the airport
Direct flight

Why not book a Villa with a heated pool, might open up a lot more options ?

HolidayMiracle · 30/06/2022 14:04

BTW The (cheapest) rooms are small (with a bunk-sofa-bed) but nicely laid out and twice daily room service so they stay tidy etc. The restaurants on site are shockingly expensive but plenty of others locally (and I hear they are now offering all inclusive if that appeals).

I’d just get your children a nice thick wetsuit, it’s what I do with my children, we went away to LaPineda in May the children went in to the sea/pool daily with their shortie wetsuits on.

It looks beautiful @HolidayMiracle

Wouldyouever · 30/06/2022 14:20

@bert3400 we did think about a villa but would love to go somewhere that has slides and activities for toddlers. @Favouritefruits I think that’s what we’ll end up doing as we’re looking at end of September/early October

All the villas & hotels locally to me stop heating the pool in high season because they are already between 25 -30°C, possibly a little less in the morning,
The sea is currently 25°C (Mediterranean)
The people I know do not continue heating in the summer, because it costs a fortune, (particularly now) & a pool over 30°C is a breeding ground for bacteria & seriously not a good place to swim. ideally when the water gets that hot they try & get the temperature down by keeping the filtration on at night !

HolidayMiracle · 30/06/2022 14:41

@cooldarkroom where do you live that the pools are already 25-30 degrees? 28ish degrees is perfect for a fun pool (agree if you are a serious swimmer you want it cooler).

I think @HolidayMiracle is spot on with the point about swimming keeping you warm and therefore can be colder but a splash pool for little ones would benefit from being 28 degree. I agree @cooldarkroom it must be expensive and that would need to be reflected in the price.

OP your Tuscan hotel looks lovely. Was it easy to get out and about or would you recommend hiring a car?

French Riviera

Ferme D’augustin in Ramatuelle ( next to Saint Tropez)
pool is heated and beach is 5 minutes walk ( nice sandy beach with both free areas and many beach clubs)

@Firesidefox we had a car and we did use it a lot but our party included two children, if you were just adults/older children you can use the hotels free bicycles to get around and there are some nice gentle routes. But for us, yes a car was essential.
