Day 2 PCR tests
kitz90 · 21/08/2021 21:03
I'm just back from hols in Mallorca having been out there with my husband and 3 kids (all between 5 & 10 years old).
The PLF to return to the UK didn't ask for day 2 PCR codes for the children, it only asked for codes for the adults.
I'm now doubting whether I needed to spend almost £150 on day 2 tests for the kids and whether I need to use them. Me and the hubby will obviously do ours. I just wondered what other peoples experiences were?

@RacistAngst will you please come back and update this thread as to whether your code worked again?

I am not sure this was me who said that.
But I had to change my tickets when I was away. Twice. The day 2 PCR test was booked for the first date and I just used that same code (twice in the locator form) as I had never used it in the first place.
This wasn’t an issue at all.

I booked one for my 16 year old daughter when we returned from France, but there was no where to upload the information or for us to put her details on our passenger locator forms (required by adults only on the eurotunnel). So I didn't book one for my 13 year old son. I'm gutted I wasted £50 on one for my daughter when there was no need.
We all had to have test in France before travelling back anyway.

I tink my Day 2 PCR booking code is going to be something like BORISJOHNSONISAPRICK

We flew back from Greece yesterday. Handed over €40 in a drop in clinic the night before for 2 nose swabs, emailed negative results within 30 minutes. No one checked at the airport or return to UK (hand luggage only so did not go to check in desk).
Booked the cheapest day 2 test I could find for myself but not DD- just paid for the code. Completed PLF- no problem. I am usually pretty law abiding and stick to the rules but it has become increasingly obvious that the UK insistence on these tests is not enforceable and I think it was the guardian who had an article linking test providers to Tory ministers/donors.
The damage to the UK tourist industry is insane. Who the hell would visit needing to pay £100s in tests? All the 'stay in the UK' people banging on about supporting the economy, overseas tourists do not book a couple of weeks in a cottage or caravan. Overseas visitors come to the UK for the cities, countryside and history, no one comes for a week at the beach.
