Due to holiday on Greek Island in 2 weeks. Really anxiety inducing, anyone in the area boat or can offer reassurance?

Ok so I’d just need 4x green packages as things stand? Kids 17 and 11. I don’t even know why I am trying to work this out just yet. It won’t be the same by tomorrow never mind in 4 weeks time 🤦🏼‍♀️

(Sorry, I meant to say thank you!)

I’m assuming you can only book the TUI testing package if you’ve booked a holiday with them??

@Anjelika I think that was me. It says 'over 12' which I thought meant 12 and over. Maybe it means 13+. Sorry.

@poshme sorry beg your pardon I'm being a moron yes they do on day 2, it's the LFT they don't need to do! I knew there was one of the tests they didn't to do, so sorry!!

(But green package still fine, we just don't need to use the LFT element of the green package)

It says Travellers over 12. I assume that means 12 year olds and above. I've got 2 x 11 year olds so they won't need testing I'm assuming in order to travel to Greece.

@name6785 if you're returning from an amber country everyone over 4 has to take a PCR:

n arrival in England
You must take a COVID-19 PCR testt_ on or before day 2 after you arrive. Children aged 4 and under do not need to take this test.
You do not need to quarantine unless the day 2 test result is positive.
You must quarantine at home or in the place you are staying if NHS Test & Trace informs you that you travelled to England or otherwise come into contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.

@poshme yes sorry I've corrected myself 😊

For us we've had to book 2 LFT for older kids on way out, 4 LFTs in resort for older kids & adults, and 5 PCR for day 2.

Sigh.

Still hoping to go!

@Anjelika you're right- but they will need LFT to return.

@poshme yes I can imagine that adding up! I'm still so 50/50 as to whether we are going, would love to but worried I'm going to be stressing about test results ruining it a bit.

I think our LFTs will be ok, but we might be positive on the day 2 PCR as we all had covid about 4 weeks ago, and apparently it can still show up.

But if we have to quarantine when we get back we will.

But I can't wait. I LOVE Greece.

@GrealishHairband if you are positive from your test then I’m really sorry but you can shed dead COVID cells for up to 3 months after, which would still give you a positive LFT sorry🥺 I know this because I manage a waiting list for patients and can’t relist until at least three months post illness.

Thankfully after one inconclusive test I’ve had a negative. So I think I’m pretty much the only person in my region with a cough and loss of taste and smell without Covid. But I ain’t questioning it…

@name6785

We are 2 double jabbed adults + a 8 year old, 12 year old, 15 year old.

On arrival in Corfu we only need to pay for 2 LFTs at £29 each

But on return to the uk we need:
4 LFTs at £29 each
Plus
5 Day 2 PCRs at £89

= total of £625 Sad and that was after shopping around

@NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoBy oh I'm sorry that's really expensive, it's a shame more companies haven't done the package like TUI. Is the £29 on arrival a Corfu thing? In Kos it's random testing done at the airport (although gather they're doing all UK adults atm) and we don't have to pay apparently. I assumed that would be Greece wide.

@MrsElijahMikaelson1 we have been testing negative on LFTs since a day after positive PCR (thankfully)

Was due to go to Crete mid August. One of the dc has had Covid. Panic about him getting a negative LFT to fly home as even though the the COVID recovery certificate the NHS supply is valid for entry into Greece, the U.K. doesn’t accept it for flying home 🤷‍♀️
So, very very reluctantly are going to cancel and move to next year. Wouldn’t enjoy it. Worrying about being tested on arrival, then before we flew home. 😩😩😩

@FizzyPink maybe they're processing them ASAP in case there's a sudden surge of bookings!

I just went, if you’re double jabbed you don’t need a pre flight test, but otherwise you need a rapid antigen fit to fly abd to fill in a plf more than 1 day before you leave
They tested everybody coming off the flight upon arrival ( only one passenger per household) , but this can mean it takes 2 hrs to get out of the airport , so best to pick seats near the front or back doors, so you are processed quickly…

I'm most concerned about someone else on the flight testing positive on arrival, what an absolute nightmare that would be!!

I'm due to attend a wedding and probably 60%+ of guests will be on the flight, but not the B+G.
