Would you book Centre Parcs for May?

And how would you read this about cancellation?

To give you that extra peace of mind when booking, if the break you choose to book is then affected by further coronavirus closures, we’re offering

Cancellation or refund, up until 48 hours before, with no amendment fee

That just sounds to me like they give us a refund if they're closed. It's not just letting us cancel and get our money back if we just decide not to go is it?

I definitely wouldn't book and I agree I would read that as they refund if they shut not if you can't/don't want to go. Don't do it!

Raindancer411 · 10/04/2020 16:28

I wouldn't at the moment as May isn't that far away and to be honest most people who have holidays booked until June I know, all have had them cancelled

Tiredmum100 · 10/04/2020 16:34

No I wouldn't book. I wouldn't want to risk losing my money at all or have the hassle of trying to get it back.

KenDodd · 10/04/2020 16:38

We were supposed to go to America for two weeks during this Easter school holidays, obviously that didn't happen. I was thinking I could book CP and just cancel if things didn't look ok(ish) in six weeks. I don't think the kids will be back in school before May half term so they could just do school work there and it would be a little break for us. Don't want to loss (another lot) of money though if we decide not to go. Their contact centre is closed so I can't get clarity that way.

No way.

They probably won't be allowed to open anyway.

CottonSock · 10/04/2020 16:39

No way.

Toomuch2019 · 10/04/2020 16:41

Don’t do this. They have basically shut call centre for last few weeks, I am supposed to be going mid may and no info on what I can do if I want to cancel now. I’d wait til nearer the time and see what the situation is.

helpmum2003 · 10/04/2020 16:41

No

PuppyMonkey · 10/04/2020 16:42

I don’t understand why you’d think schools won’t be back open, but Center Parcs will be. Confused

halcyondays · 10/04/2020 16:43

No way, very unlikely it will open in May anyway.

Didntwanttochangemyname · 10/04/2020 16:43

My a chance. I wouldn't feel confident about booking anything until at earliest August and even then I'd make sure I read the cancellation policy.

OnlyJudyCanJudgeMe · 10/04/2020 16:43

No. I wouldn’t at all.

madroid · 10/04/2020 16:45

No this won't be over in another month!

We've got two months more at least. Won't even be over leak deaths until May. Then another to come down the other side of the curve.

madroid · 10/04/2020 16:46

*peak deaths

simplekindoflife · 10/04/2020 16:48

Not a chance! I can't see holidays happening at all this summer to be honest.

lubeybooby · 10/04/2020 16:52

Don't ask them about it because I worry they will encourage you to book. We're not even at peak yet and lockdown won't be relaxed until we're well out the other side. Even then lockdown being relaxed likely won't extend to 'OK everyone go on holiday then and merrily gather' May is buggered

justdontatme · 10/04/2020 16:53

I wouldn't. We have a week booked away at the end of May and I can't see it going ahead at all (luckily it's in a family friend's holiday cottage so not hugely out of pocket over it if we can't go - unlike our Easyjet flights for this Easter )

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 10/04/2020 16:53

Good grief no. Those swimming pools are just virus soup at the best of times.

TheReluctantCountess · 10/04/2020 16:54

No. The virus won’t have magically disappeared next month, so I don’t see why you would want to risk mixing with people then.

Pipandmum · 10/04/2020 16:54

I doubt they will reopen in May but my understanding of your post is if you book but they are still closed then you get a refund. If you just change your mind (and they are open) then whatever their normal cancellation policy is.

Heismyopendoor · 10/04/2020 16:55

Nope nope nope

BeyondMyWits · 10/04/2020 16:56

nope

Would not risk that viral soup of a pool/tropical dome for quite some time to come... and if you are not going for the pool - why??

tibradden · 10/04/2020 16:56

I wouldn’t. I know someone waiting for refund for over 4 weeks now. No acknowledgement of emails and as said above, call centre is closed

Kidssendingmenuts · 10/04/2020 17:01

I'm booked to go to sherwood CP at the end of May. If it remains closed (it's currently closed till the end of April) their offering a refund or rebook for another time with a £100 discount. By the look of it already their extremely far behind with refunds as the call centre is closed and only Skeleton staff working from home doing the refunds.

ineedaholidaynow · 10/04/2020 17:03

As a family we love Center Parcs but we won't be going back there anytime soon. This virus needs to be sorted before we would risk it
