What’s your favourite part of flying Business Class?

... or even First?

Mine has to be the first glass of champagne when you sit down and everyone else is shuffling past down to economy, looking at you Wink

I wouldn’t know but do tell us...

WineOrGinOrBoth · 21/12/2019 16:45

Not having to queue for the loos.

The champagne is anything but free!

Proper plated food. Better wine. Flat beds.

But mainly Space so I don’t have to worry about as much about getting dvt. (It’s a real risk every time I fly).

KenDodd · 21/12/2019 16:50

The lounge.
I've flown first, business and coach. Don't mind which one I fly in really unless it's overnight in which case a flat bed is great.

bohemia14 · 21/12/2019 16:50

Not sure on which airline but I've definitely flown on a plane where you have to walk through business to get to economy.

I'm not really sure what the point of this thread is but I guess my answer would be flat bed/space to sleep. Everything else is just trimmings. And none of it is free!

Hoolahlah66 · 21/12/2019 16:52

This thread is nauseating. I can’t believe people like you lot actually exist. You do realise there are people who probably live within a mile radius of you who can’t afford to eat dinner tonight.

Expressedways · 21/12/2019 16:57

No one shuffles past you if you fly First. The main appeal is fast tracked queuing- bag drop, security, priority boarding. Off first at the other end. Free champagne though 😂 it’s probably about the most expensive you’ll ever have. What occurred to me on my last flight with in First where I was struggling to sleep is that the whole experience is a lot like a youth hostel with ab uncomfortable single bed and sharing a room/the bathroom with 10 strangers. Still prefer it to economy though!

lioness88 · 21/12/2019 17:32

The whole experience, not just the flight. Priority boarding, lounges, disembarkation. Fast track security! The dedicated First security for BA at Heathrow is fantastic.
Flat bed wins for me, plane food is plane food.

Haven't flown since January when we went to New York in First (back in Business) with BA.

eurochick · 21/12/2019 17:36

The bacon rolls in the BA lounge at Heathrow hold a special appeal for me for early morning flights.

Otherwise the flat bed for night flights is the best bit.

Dolorabelle · 21/12/2019 17:38

Not having to queue.

CherryPavlova · 21/12/2019 17:45

Not having to sort out transport or parking at the airport.
Sleeping.

Apolloanddaphne · 21/12/2019 17:47

@Hoolahlah66 We go business class using my DHs airmiles as he travels a lot with work. We only pay about the same amount as an economy flight for them. We aren't loaded despite what you seem to think. I imagine a lot of people on this thread do the same or travel business class with their work paying.

whatalovelytub · 21/12/2019 17:48

The lounge beforehand!

Hoolahlah66 · 21/12/2019 18:30

It’s not really about the money or how much it cost you. You’re missing my point.

billysboy · 21/12/2019 18:38

not having the queues at either end which means I can leave less time beforehand and be out of the airport faster at the other end

Use business to go to the US about 6-8 times a year always with BA

Enjoy the extra room and less disturbance from other passengers

Madvixen · 21/12/2019 18:38

As a terrified flyer, it's the care and attention from the crew that are my favourite parts. They really help to keep me calm and focused

Soontobe60 · 21/12/2019 18:49

I loved the first class toilets when I flew to San Francisco. I only had an economy ticket, but got a bad bout of the runs mid flight so the flight attendant told me to use the first class cabin toilets as there wasn't no queue.
Turned out I had salmonella!

Soontobe60 · 21/12/2019 18:50

duh!
Was no, not wasn't no!

Movinghouseatlast · 21/12/2019 19:13

Hoolahan, what is your point then? If it's not about the money?

If I told my employer I didn't want to travel business they wouldn't give the difference to a homeless charity.

Is your point that noone should have nice things if others can't have them?

IrenetheQuaint · 21/12/2019 19:18

Envy I've travelled a fair bit but never flown anything except economy. Maybe one day...

managedmis · 21/12/2019 19:21

The space to sleep, and the shower in Emirates first class.

^^

Is this a shower each? Or can you all use it?

Parker231 · 21/12/2019 19:22

Space and the flat bed. I fly business regularly for work and the air miles mean we can fly business to visit family and for holidays.

gingerbreaddragon · 21/12/2019 19:28

The bed, I had one that had a massage setting, it was wonderful.
Crew are extra helpful.
Nice plates and cutlery.
The space.

Fatfat · 21/12/2019 19:28

Being able to sleep on a flight (comfortably), the service and the food!

Hoolahlah66 · 21/12/2019 19:28

Not all first class travellers are there because of business trips or air miles but I see your personal circumstance. I just find the concept of comparing notes about it vulgar if you chose to use it fine, up to you. It’s just like saying what do I love best about my fantastic privilege..just, well as I say a bit vulgar. Also refer to my previous point one business or first class seat can provide space for up to 4 passengers. So the theory is (and I am aware this won’t necessarily work unless the flight is sold out) more travellers less planes better for the environment. It’s just all a bit pointless..

YuletideFairy · 21/12/2019 19:30

I’ve never actually realised people look at those in business class on their way to their seats. Do business class passengers never shuffle down the aisles? What a goady and awful post tbh. Do you often gloat at others OP? 🙄
