Best/worst city breaks

Saw a similar thread recently and wondered what are people's best/worst city break destinations?
I loved most of the typical places Paris, Rome, Venice and so on. However, I think a lot of people will disagree with me here I was very unimpressed with Amsterdam. Apart from some nice architecture and Anne Franks house. I just didn't see what everyone else sees. I'm not a prude the red light district didn't bother me. I fell asleep on the most boring river cruise ever. It just all seemed abit dull. I find it strange because I am not one not to enjoy places.
Is it just me?

Five days in Venice was four and a half days too long.

Adored Valencia

Definitely a fan of Paris but taking both teen Ds they both got Paris Syndrome Confused - they won't be going back in a hurry! But I will Grin. I suggested Amsterdam this year - have been twice but fancied returning. Off to Athens in May.

Seville was amazing; food was incredibly affordable.
New Orleans - incredible also. One boozy strip but fantastic vibe, great food and shopping, lots of areas to explore. Didn't even get to the bayou.
I've travelled to lots of US cities and the only one I was a bit meh about was San Francisco - really grotty.

Venice was great but made a point of going out of season and spending as little time in San Marco as possible.

Underwhelmed by Dublin.
Loathed marrakech despite thinking I'd love it. We went at the wrong time of year I think.

I really really liked Brussels - completely unexpectedly. I have been twice now and just really liked the vibe.

Also love Rome - so much to see, for free.

However, wasn't that keen on Florence.

I loved Vilnius too. The amazing bars and restaurants, the history, beautiful gothic buildings and the best hot chocolate in the world. Oh and cold borscht soup too Smile

I also wasn't crazy about Dublin.

Adored Rome / Edinburgh / New York / Paris / Miami.

Fell in love with Krakow and would go again in a heartbeat if the opportunity arose. Same with Chicago, wonderful city with so much to see and such a wonderful atmosphere.

Most people are surprised when I say I didn't like New York. Spent 5 days there and in no rush to go back. I think part of it was because I had so many people telling me how amazing it was and how much I would love it that it would never live up to the hype. People just prefer different things

Loved: Berlin

Didn't love: Vienna

Kiev

I have just been back to Glasgow for the first time in over 20 years. I enjoyed that, and am looking forward to going again in hopefully better weather, but certainly before another 20 years has passed.
I always enjoy a couple of days in London, but am glad to get home again.
Enjoyed both Barcelona and Venice.
Not overly keen on Geneva apart from the area immediately by the lake.
