Where can I take my husband on our anniversary in March that will be warm?

Can't be for more then 3 nights as I don't want to leave son with inlaws for any longer then that

We don't mind a medium flight but it can't be so long we just lay about tired on either end of it

I want to stay in a five star hotel but a reasonably priced one

It would be great if it wasn't somewhere we have been before.

I have thought about Seville even though we have been there for the day

Good food essential.

So far we have been in Europe to
Lisbon (which I adore beyond words)
Barcelona
Paris
Nice
Cannes
Rome
Tuscany
The Algarve
Switzerland (all of because I have links there)
Skiing at Les Arcs

He has been to Croatia and so have I but not at the same time.

So I was thinking about Seville but now I'm not sure if three days there is too many?

Or if I went somewhere that wasn't warm what about New York as he hasn't been there yet

What about Ibiza for some outdoor activities like mountain biking etc?

Or the very very south of Italy?

I feel weary of Spain and France mainland due to the instability there at the minute although I am an overly anxious person.

If you have ideas I'll be delighted to hear them!

Thank you

I've probably missed places we have been. I don't want to go skiing this time.

Lanzarote. Playa Blanca.
The pedestrian seafront at the Port, rather than Marina end has a lovely ‘old town’ atmosphere at night.

There is loads to do culturally with an easy drive, or well organised excursions on FirstMinute.

Timanfaya, the volcanic National Park. The Cesar Manrique buildings, his two houses, Jameos del Agua, like futuristic 60’s Bond movie sets, the brilliant Mirador del Rio and others. The fantastic drive through Geria, the wine growing region each little vine in a moonscape stone igloo, and the associated Bodegas....

Brautiful beaches: small town beaches or the wild and lovely Playas Papagayos in tne natural park area (accessible by bike hire from Playa Blanca, or a short drive)

Another vote for Lanzarote, Princesa Yaiza hotel.

Do you know what I’d do? Give him a card with all the booking in on the anniversary, and go in May!!!

You wont be able to fly to corsica in March very easily. I know because we are going end of march and are having to drive down and take the ferry.

If youre a little snobby ;) Northern tenerife is much nicer than southern tenerife.
We stayed on a banana plantation near Garachico a few januaries ago and it was SO beautiful, and a lovely temperature. We skinny dipped in massive rock pools the size of swimming pools. It was amazing and beautiful and id go back in a heartbeat. Didnt like southern tenerife as it was very.... british in a ukippy kind of way, but the north was different.

Marrakech. Went with pal
Last year felt totally safe. It’s a Muslim country and they are very respectful. Very little alcohol. Weather and culture amazing

CupanTaeAnois · 06/11/2017 21:21

Was going to mention Granada and Marrakesh too. Fab cities and not resorty!

How about Sorrento? Lovely town with lots of restaurants. Can visit Capri, Naples, Pompeii, Vesuvius and the Amalfi coast. Lots of trips if you don't want to hire a car.

We’ve been to valencia a few times and it’s usually in the mid 20s by March. Love the city too. What about Madeira? Dh and I went pre kids and had a lovely time doing long walks and enjoying the fabulous hotel. Can’t remember on the weather, I think we went in October time but he hates hot anyway. Corsica is where we want to go next year but it’s only viable in high season due to flights etc for us.

I love Lisbon too. What about Sardinia? Or forget the warmth and go somewhere like krakow? I’ve heard it’s amazing.

And definitely enough to do in Malta for three days. We went in mid August when I was severely sick with early pregnancy. Didn’t do much and would like to go back! Envy

I have been to malta in winter a few times. Last february hovered around 17-18 degrees but we did get a couple of very windy days. The february before was about 22/23. I definitely think theres enough to do for a short break. A lot of brits go there in the winter and of course they all speak english so its a very easy holiday and also get good bargains in the winter months

Branleuse · 12/11/2017 22:35

Valencia at christmas time was nice too. Jeans and Tshirt weather, although not really swimming weather

Me again!
Has anyone been to Tenerife to the Gran Melia?

During March there will be many places with nice weather to go. This time will be nice both for active travelling and beach one, in case of the second one it can be a perfect decision for avoiding too hot weather which is really a problem for tourists in summer. In this case I can really recommend Spain (personally I liked Barcelona very much!) and Greece, it's still one of my the most favourite countries for romantic trips, I'm sad to hear that you had an unpleasant experience there... Why did that happen, btw? Hmm
Dubai and Canary islands are good ideas too, however as I know from my friends trips there aren't very cheap.
I think that anyway Europe is the best decision. Considering countries you've already visited, why not to try Portugal, Hungary, Romania, Poland or Serbia for this time? Latvia is one of my favourites too, it's a very good place for those who like various historical sightseeings greentourbaltic.com/tourcats/latvia/ , long walkings across cities and cozy cafes Smile And for beaches there Jurmala is nice, for example, we had with my husband a really nice vacation there during last year.

Gran Hotel Atlantis Bahia Fuertaventura
Expensive but lovely.
I know that a general manager of a 5 star ( gorgeous) hotel elsewhere always holidays there- that's a great recommendation.
The courtyard eating area is sooo romantic
