How much roughly to go to Disneyland Paris?

We'd love to take our children 5 & 9 to Disneyland Paris before they're too old/not interested. We are moving house this year so no big holidays planned but I'd like to maybe plan it for next year.

Anyone who's been could you give me a rough idea of what it cost you please? I think we'd be looking to do a long weekend/4 day kind of trip. Are there companies you can recommend to book through or better to just do it all independently?

We went in March, booked through Disney travel company. 2 nights standard full board in Santa Fe hotel (Disney hotel, cheap and basic but comfy and functional) with ferry crossing and park tickets included for £380. That was for 2 adults and 1 child.

We are looking to go again next march for 4 nights and in a slightly nicer hotel, currently looking at about £500-600. That doesn't include any travel though.

We went in April. Booked through Magic Breaks. 4 nights half Board- stayed at Sequoia Lodge in Golden Forest room which gets extra Fastpass and afternoon snacks plus drinks. 5 days tickets. Two adults and 2 kids 1600-ish. Spent only 100 euro when there as we made sandwiches at breakfast. Price included 2 nights free and I think there are often offers so shop around. Loved it so much more than expected - kids 8 and almost 12 had a ball so don't worry about them losing interest plus depending on heights there are a lot with limits so possibly best to wait a few years.

Honey1975 · 30/04/2017 22:07

Thanks Lj, how did you find it for 2 nights? I actually have no idea what
to expect and how long to go for.

We go for 4 nights, 5 days. This is our 4th year. It's generally £300-400 per week for the accommodation and tickets, and around £200 on travel.

Honey1975 · 30/04/2017 22:10

Thanks Birdy that's very helpful what you say about the ages. My dd is just 5 and mad about disney princesses so I thought now would be a good time to go but maybe she is a little small still for the rides etc.

(DD has loved it aged 3,4,5 and hopefully it will be even better at 6. She was tall enough for most stuff at 5.)

TittyGolightly · 30/04/2017 22:11

Seeing princesses is hard work/expensive though. Unless watching the parade is enough.

Honey1975 · 30/04/2017 22:11

Titty that sounds reasonable, what time of year is that & is it school hols?

OP posts:
TittyGolightly · 30/04/2017 22:11

I wouldn't go in school hols. Have done March twice, February once and going in Sept this year.

lamandler · 30/04/2017 22:11

Can I hijack slightly?! I've looked on the official website and two nights for 4 of us at Sequoia hotel in May half term (plus Eurostar) is a whopping £1400! Am I missing a huge trick?

Honey1975 · 30/04/2017 22:12

Hmm I see, maybe we should wait a while..😀

TittyGolightly · 30/04/2017 22:12

Yes. Never book travel via Disney. And there are cheaper hotels. We've done Santa Fe 3 times.

Lj8893 · 30/04/2017 22:13

Dd is 3.5 and loved it, we didn't go on that many rides but there's so much else to do and see. She has spoken about it everyday since and we have been home 6 weeks 😂

2 nights was ok, we had 2.5 days in the park and managed to squeeze a lot in but definitely would do longer in future, just so it's a little more relaxed.

TittyGolightly · 30/04/2017 22:13

You don't get any deals on a 2 night stay.
Other countries' sites are worth checking. They sometimes have flash sales. ;)

Lj8893 · 30/04/2017 22:14

There's a Facebook group called Disneyland for Brits. It is soooo helpful!

Lj8893 · 30/04/2017 22:15

titty you do get deals on a 2 night stay, depending on what the deal is. We did 2 nights and got free full board, 25% off and free ferry crossing.

User2468 · 30/04/2017 22:15

I think I costed it up at about £1500 including Euro Star for us to go for a weekend, staying in the 5* hotel. That was for only one child though.

Why don't you go on their website and cost it up?

Honey1975 · 30/04/2017 22:15

Thanks Lj I'll take a look at that.

I went for 4 nights in march but before schools broke up. I paid £480 for sequoia lodge and it had free full board plus included. I checked same dates a week later and it was £900, so def worth playing around with dates / checking back. I booked through magic breaks.

I did Eurostar on top which was another £150ish I think, but that was just for me and 1 ds who was 5.

For princesses etc instead of queueing I would do the character lunch or princess for a day. You can literally spend your entire time queueing otherwise and get very little done.

TittyGolightly · 30/04/2017 22:20

Ah. We get 2 nights free (so 50%) or 40% off plus free meal plan.

I use clubcard vouchers for free eurotunnel crossing.

BirdyBedtime · 01/05/2017 09:40

I have to say I was so glad that DD was too old to be interested in Princesses as the queuing must be soul destroying. Thankfully ds wasn't interested in queuing to meet darth vader either. Character breakfast is definitely the way too go. It's only a small supplement if you're on a meal plan and ticks that box.

BirdyBedtime · 01/05/2017 09:42

Lamandler that sounds about right as we technically only paid for 2 nights. The price of our package was really similar on both disneyl and magic breaks sites - Disney had sold out of our deal by the time we went to book but MB still had a few rooms.

TittyGolightly · 01/05/2017 10:03

There is no character breakfast any more.

Lj8893 · 01/05/2017 11:42

Character breakfast is at Plaza Gardens restaurant now.

TittyGolightly · 01/05/2017 11:43

Ah. I knew they'd taken characters from Cafe Mickey and the characters are back at hotels but didn't know that. Good call. :)
