I thought I'd start a new thread as number 2 is nearly full.

Links to old threads:

thread 1

thread 2

We haven't got ours booked yet. But we are planning on going August 2016. DH and I both turn 30 in the next 11 months so it's like a big birthday holiday.

We went end of August last year and found it fine, although it was our first trip so nothing to compare to.
Queues were fine, it was an amazing trip

MozzchopsThirty · 31/05/2015 21:49

I can't risk booking everything else, I need to see flight prices first.
Last year our package was excellent value and cheaper than booking separately

BloodyDogHairs · 31/05/2015 21:49

Awks I'm guessing you ate in Golden Corral then Smile

MozzchopsThirty · 31/05/2015 21:52

When I look at Virgin packages it still says may 2016 is outside book able dates. Am I doing something wrong?

squallywag · 31/05/2015 23:14

DH and I planning to go in October, staying at a villa in Davenport

Have any of you ever done New York at either end? Is it too much to do in 2 weeks?

We want to go to Epcot and also harry potter if I lose enough weight to go on the rides.

LeBoob · 01/06/2015 07:52

We're booking the hotel/tickets direct through disney while the free dining plan is available mozz then in oct/November we will book our flights for oct 16.

Is Sanford a massive pain to get to/from disney?

HelloIAmBaymax · 01/06/2015 08:01

I did 3 nights at New York before spending 11 nights at Disney World. It was fun and I would do it again, either without youngest DS or when he's a few years older.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 01/06/2015 08:16

We went to Sanford once and it was obviously a longer drive but I wasn't driving so can't say what it was like. I don't remember it being awful though.

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 01/06/2015 08:16

Very jealous of you all. My next trip isn't until 2020. AngrySad The dc will be 8 and 5. I've been 3 times pre kids so this time will be a whole different ball game!

StrawberrytallCake · 01/06/2015 08:25

We're going to NY for a night half way through, I don't think I would recommend that!!! I think one end would be fine - only a 2 1/2 hour flight.

Epcot FP this morning, probably totally unnecessary and I've been up since 5 now, argh.

Hope you're all feeling better BloodyDog, I prefer villa too but I think it's personal choice. I also love some of the restaurants in Florida - have you been to Roy's?

BloodyDogHairs · 01/06/2015 09:05

I like Sanford, infact that's the reason I chose to fly with Thomsons this year. Orlando international is just too big when you've got little dc's, car seats, buggies and luggage.

Dc's are still sleeping so I'm hoping they wake refreshed, I've got a ton of stuff I need to do so would rather not have them tied to my hip Grin

I'm sitting here waiting for our online check in to open, the flight takes off at 10.30 next week so I'm assuming it won't open until 10.30. I hope we are seated together.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 01/06/2015 11:05

Yes, Orlando is a nightmare of an airport! Very good point that it's probably worth the extra journey time if you have little ones with buggies! We've got Orlando airport down to a fine art now but it took several goes and needs at least 3 adults.

Starberry, did you get the Epcot FPs you wanted?

AlfieBear, just think of all the planning you can get done in that time :)

McKayz · 01/06/2015 12:48

It's booked!!!!!!! 2 weeks in August 2016 at Caribbean Beach Resort. So excited!! GrinGrin

StrawberrytallCake · 01/06/2015 12:50

I don't know - we went out with friends last night and my head was a little fuzzy at 5am, I didn't even really look at what I could get stupidly!! I've booked character meet first, the boat ride (forgotten what it's called) then nemo.

I've never used rider-swap before, is there somewhere on FP I need to specify?

BloodyDogHairs · 01/06/2015 12:55

If you are doing child swap the person who queue asks for a child swap ticket then the next to ride walks up the fp section and hands it over. That person can take someone else on too.

Congrats on the booking Mckayz

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 01/06/2015 13:14

No Soarin', Strawberry?! Shock LOL at the fuzzy head and not knowing what you've booked though :)

Yay for booking, McKayz! I'll be there same time as you - I'll be the one lying on the floor in a puddle of sweat :)

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 01/06/2015 13:16

My FPs are going to be really complicated when it comes round to it as I can only get 7 days at a time (as we're annual pass holders) - not that I'm still sulking about that or anything :)

Likeaninjanow · 01/06/2015 13:17

We're going in 3 weeks time! Never been before, so we're really excited but not sure what we're doing! We're staying in a villa rather than a hotel as we have a child with severe food allergies, so it's just easier.

StrawberrytallCake · 01/06/2015 13:28

I think the 2yr old is too small for Soarin'? Then I guess we could use child swap pass...I've never been on it! I'm going to have a look at it now!

BloodyDogHairs · 01/06/2015 13:52

Soaring is the best thing in Epcot, what I've done is I got FP for MIL, FIL & my 2 older dc's. They'll get me a child swap ticket so I will go on it with DH. I then used our FP for test track so I will then get childswap for my 2 older dc's since you couldn't book fp for Soaring and Test track.

KinkyDorito · 01/06/2015 17:18

Lucas Thanks for that link. Does seem taxi is the best way for us to get to Universal from Disney. A plus this time is we aren't planning to Seaworld, so will only be out for a couple of days at Universal parks. Most of our time will be Disney.

However, I am getting more and more tempted to book Discovery Cove...

Magnolia1975 · 01/06/2015 17:27

Gatecrashing the thread..... we go in 11 days time! When I'm not on mumsnet my next favourite forum is 'The Dibb' which has loads of great information. Can't wait!!!!!
