I thought I'd start a new thread as number 2 is nearly full.

We haven't got ours booked yet. But we are planning on going August 2016. DH and I both turn 30 in the next 11 months so it's like a big birthday holiday.

Lucas - yes were staying in the same one. I think my kids will love Universal more so than Disney.

The Dibb has a facility which tells you which parks will be busier/less busier each day. I used that as my basic plan, chose all less busy days and then did my fast passes from there.

I got in a bit of a pickle as 4 of us want the big rides, and 2 of us don't, so I have trying to co-ordinate times and different rides

Goodbetterbest · 17/07/2015 16:39

Oh Lucas - we're on site in the Carribean resort.

Really hoping the Disney Magic is working - we split up after booking this holiday, but still going so as to not give the DCs a double whammy! Such is my faith in the power of Disney Magic, it's still going to be fabulous! Grin

PandasRock · 17/07/2015 17:07

I am not waking up at 5am to do fast passes. No way. I'll take my chances, and hope that with the i site a advantage I can get something - we're not going until next year, so maybe the mania will have died down a little by then

We have the big ride/not big ride dilemma too. That's where (for us) good use of DAS cards come in, as I can use our FPs to book something for us all to,do,together, and then use eg dd1's DAS to collect a time for a calm ride, and dd2's DAS to collect a time for a big/fast ride, and then the rest of us divide accordingly. Or so the plan goes, anyway!

Has anyone else booked a package with orlando attractions? I'm booked and it's all linked with disney but my memory maker doesn't show yet? Is it something that will appear closer to the time or should I call them and chase it up? Thanks

PandasRock · 17/07/2015 19:51

I'm booked with WDTC, but my memory maker isn't showing up properly either. My resort is linked, and underneath there is a section to link memory maker. If I try, it just says booking already linked.
However, if I click through the tickets, it says 'ticket with memory maker included adult ticket only' so I assume it is all ok.

I do need to ring back though, as one of our party (admittedly added in later, but all showing on our latest invoice) isn't showing at all, so no idea how they managed that (I had to get Disney to link up in MDE as we have a weird foreign surname that computers can't cope with!)

BloodyDogHairs · 17/07/2015 20:04

Are you on the app leboob, check for it on the PC..I had the same panic until lucas told me to check on the PC and it was all linked.

McKayz · 17/07/2015 20:51

Our memory maker isn't showing up yet. It asks for a ticket number when I go to link it.

We don't go until August 2016 so is it likely to show up later or should I ring them?

PandasRock · 17/07/2015 21:22

Mine asks for a ticket number, and then underneath is a link to click if bought as part of a package. If I try to link through, it tells me that package is already linked in MDE!

I'm going to leave it a while. As said above it looks like I'll need to call them soon anyway, so will check with them then about memory maker too.

ShiftyFades · 17/07/2015 22:43

I'm on The Dibb.....send a search party if I'm not back in 3 days....Grin

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 18/07/2015 14:07

Ahhh Lucas drink around the world at Epcot is something I saw a few people doing and felt envious, definitely on the to do list.

It will be really expensive though and I don't want to end up feeling ill so DH and I are going to split drinks between us :)

Oh Lucas - we're on site in the Carribean resort.

If possible, I'd consider going to another hotel instead as I think the free Express Passes aren't included with that hotel (though do double check!) I know the other hotels are more expensive but if it's not that much more then it will be SO worth it as the Express Passes are worth their weight in gold (ok, so they don't weight much but you know what I mean Grin). It makes a world of difference to your stay, seriously. Cabana Bay doesn't get you the free passes but all the others do - Royal Pacific is the cheapest one.

Our memory maker isn't showing up yet. It asks for a ticket number when I go to link it

Did you get a confirmation email with a ticket number on? If so, you could try entering that number. My MM showed up instantly but I was logged into MDE when I booked it. You will get a physical card through the post soon and that will have a number to link it.

So, I have started work on my MNSSHP costume and I am really pleased with it :) I've also started to make personalised trick or treat bags which I'm disproportionately excited about Grin They give our bags there but apprently they're rather small and you're allowed to bring your own. So I bought some orange cotton bags for about £1 each and then I have some transfer paper which I'm printing out a design on - a MNSSHP logo, the date we're going and our names in Halloween style eg. Spooky Sue, Gruesome Greg etc.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 18/07/2015 14:08

Btw, you can have all those typos for free Grin

BloodyDogHairs · 18/07/2015 16:11

Lucas I think Disney have stopped sending cards out now, you need to pick them up at the parks now.

Halloween sounds like such a good time to visit!

PandasRock · 18/07/2015 20:46

I'm not sure I'll get a physical card - I booked whole package through Disney, and MM is included free on the park tickets for 2016, so I assume it just links up in MDE/on Magic Band same way our park tickets will.

Oh well, time will tell Grin

BloodyDogHairs · 18/07/2015 21:20

It will be linked, I didn't stay at Disney but when I bought my bands at the park I didn't need to link MM as it was already on MDE.

McKayz · 19/07/2015 09:16

I think I need to call them anyway. I've just logged into MDE and my name is on there twice and DHs name has gone.

Are there any good Facebook pages or groups for planning ideas?

OP posts:
LucasNorthsTwiglets · 19/07/2015 12:34

I think The Dibb is your best place for planning - they have whole sections dedicated to it, packing lists, car hire info. If you need to know it, it's on there :)

ShiftyFades · 19/07/2015 23:21

Packing lists? Oh I haven't found those yet Grin

McKayz · 20/07/2015 05:59

I have to go find packing lists!

Here is a link to their planning page

Goodbetterbest · 20/07/2015 19:22

Hi Lucas, what do you mean by Express Passes? (Having a little panic now) I've not come across any mention of them before.

Goodbetterbest · 20/07/2015 19:30

Ahh Express passes are universal - and we're staying at the RPR there so I think we get them?

We are ataying at the Carribean Reaort in Disney but still have 14 day passes for Universal. I don't know why, I think I got extremely confused during booking. That, or they saw me coming!! Wink

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 20/07/2015 19:55

Oh I see, I thought you meant the Caribbean-themed hotel at Universal (Sapphire Falls). I'm so sorry to panic you!!! Yes, you will definitely get the free Express Passes if you're staying at the RPR. They are basically queue-jumping passes that you can use on everything except the Harry Potter rides. There's no limit to how many times you can use them and you don't need to prebook anything. Every ride has a separate Express entrance (like Disney FP+ entrances) - you just turn up and go as many times as you want, whenever you want! They are amaaaaaazing - there's no better feeing that seeing a 90 minute queue for a ride and walking straight onto it Grin

Also don't worry about your 14 day tickets - that's all you can buy in the UK (I think) and they are cheaper than buying 2 separate entrances at the gate so they are the cheapest deal you can get, even if you only use a few days of it.

Really sorry to worry you :)

ShiftyFades · 22/07/2015 09:06

Sooo, it's all going wrong. My dad has taken ill with pancreatitis, they can't find gallstones (but are getting an expert radiographer in just to make sure), he doesn't drink - the two main causes.
I had to get an ambulance on Saturday for him and to cut a long story, he's been in Intensive Care since Monday Sad
Dad wants us all to go regardless, but it's unlikely he and mum will go on the holiday they bought. I just want him to live to be honest!
But I do agree, the kids have been excited for 9 months now, and that is who this holiday is for.....
Prayers needed, and probably a lot of Disney Magic needed Blush

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 22/07/2015 09:26

Oh, Shifty :( I'm so sorry, what awful luck. How is your dad feeling?
When were you due to go? (I know it's soon but can't remember exactly when).
