I thought I'd start a new thread as number 2 is nearly full.

We haven't got ours booked yet. But we are planning on going August 2016. DH and I both turn 30 in the next 11 months so it's like a big birthday holiday.

I bet they'll be very excited Lucas!

I love flying! I'm taking DS1 on a short flight this summer as he loves planes. But when we go next year it'll be the other DCs first times.

Strawberry, are you feeling very excited apart from the flying?

Strawberry - can you update me on the hair treatment when you get back, sounds exactly what I need! I always think of Monica too Grin

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 21/06/2015 23:38

Well, as per usual, they both totally unerwhelmed! I've been telling people for ages not to expect to much from the reveal as kids often don't react that well and this time was no exception :) I thought it would probably happen though as it's hard to be excited about a trip next year when you're already excited about a trip this year. I felt bad for my parents though, as they're the ones who are paying! DD's first comment was "but it will be WAY too hot!" [eyeroll]

StrawberrytallCake · 22/06/2015 11:36

Haven't booked it quite yet, will wait until this holiday is out of the way first. I think I'm going to do the Virgin one, didn't realise BA did them though...will have a look! Virgin have one on 30th August and DH and I are having a little mini break on the 5th September so it might be a good time to do it.

I am trying to manage DH's expectations of the big reveal to the children as I am worried they will probably be the same as yours Lucas and I don't want him to be upset as he's spent so long excited about telling them. You're so lucky to have the two trips to look forward to, it's always sad when leaving but at least you know you'll be going back soon.

I will Ohanarama that ep was actually on yesterday which was funny. Going in on Weds.

velvetelvis · 22/06/2015 16:14

I am booked for 2 weeks in October!
Flying to Tampa and staying in Bradenton in a villa as my brother who lives there is getting married Smile
Doing one weekend at Disney though. 2 nights in All Star Music and doing MNSSHP for the first time. So excited, even though its still more than 3 months away!

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 22/06/2015 17:21

We're going in October and doing MNSSHP too, Velvet!

velvetelvis · 22/06/2015 18:35

what date you doing the party on Lucas? We have booked it for Thurs 22nd!

PandasRock · 22/06/2015 19:47

October is a great time to go. It was still really hot when we went (last 2 weeks of Oct) and the parks looked fab all decked out for Halloween.

We didn't do MNSSHP - we don't really do late nights in the park, or Halloween so not really worth it for us but it does look good.

I still trying to get our booking to link on MDE. happens every time - I think it's to do with us having a weird surname which computers never cope with. It's annoying though. We booked direct with Disney, so it should be up by now. I'll have to give them a ring.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 22/06/2015 22:07

I forget the actual date Velvet, but it's a Tuesday early on in the month. Are you going to dress up? We all are and I'm really looking fwd to it! We also don't do late nights in the parks, Panda, as our youngest is only 7yo and gets exhausted - so staying up until midnight at the party should be interesting :)

PandasRock · 22/06/2015 22:42

Good luck, Lucas! Last time we went the dc were 8, 6 and 14 months, so there was no chance of us doing it. Maybe in a few years time Grin

SwedeDreams · 23/06/2015 20:27

Just found out exciting news- we always go to Disney in February, and always been sad that blizzard beach is closed and typhoon lagoon is the only Disney waterpark open. Wel this year for the first time they have swapped the opening times!

Blizzard beach is open in Feb! Can't tell you how excited I am, not a fan of the wave pool at typhoon lagoonand I love the theming of blizzard beach- plus it has an excellent mini golf outside, what a bonus!!!

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 24/06/2015 09:38

Pandas, we're planning on a quiet, relaxing morning at the villa and then will head off to the party at about 4pm, so fingers crossed the 7yo can do a late night then. I think he'll be fine as he's ararely asleep here before 10pm! I'm not bothered if we don't stay there 'til the end though, we just have to make sure we see HalloWishes, which I think is 9.30.

Swede, that's great that you can go to BB! We have had a few trips in Feb/March but it's been the other way round for us - we've always had TL closed. I much prefer TL and it used to be a lot better for the kids but now that they're a bit older, BB will be the best one for them.

SwedeDreams · 24/06/2015 12:17

Lucas- lots of people seem to prefer typhoon lagoon- I hated the wave pool at typhoon lagoon so I'm hoping this one will suit us better- also love slides and the whole theme- feels like such a bonus!

Very jealous of those going at Halloween and Christmas- I would love to visit then. Main advantage of Feb is weather and low crowds- and it's cheap!

ShiftyFades · 24/06/2015 13:35

Hello, can I join you?
We are going in less than7 weeks (11th Aug). It'll be mine and DH 4th time, DS (6, nearly 7) 2nd.

Going with my parents, my sister and her 2 kids (early teens). We've all been before but her kids were just 3&4 last time so don't rember it.
Went I. Easter last year-really bushmeat Easter weekend (last weekend of that holiday, we flew back on good Friday), almost unbearable in Magic that last Wed & Thurs.

I was nervous about august but knowing the Americans are back at school, it should be ok.

Previously we've been for Christmas (amazing) and end of September - brilliant time as so quiet. Christmas was pretty quiet too.

Last year we only did Disney as DS was 5.5 and felt he was too young for universal. Did do Kennedy - that's fantastic now, seeing Atlantis made me cry, amazing!

Staying in a Villa in Terra Verde off the 192. Stayed there last year (with in laws), getting a bigger and better villa this time, but the location is brilliant, you don't drive more than 15 mins to get to Disney and don't use the Interstate. Obviously you do for Universal / Seaworld, but we will spend most of our time at Disney again.

ShiftyFades · 24/06/2015 13:36

Bushmeat?!! Flipping phone!!

Got really busy towards Easter weekend ^

BloodyDogHairs · 24/06/2015 13:46

I'm back Sad

Had a amazing time, Fitted in 2 days at HS, 2 at MK, 1 and a half day at Epcot and a full day at AK. We also covered Blizzard beach, Typhoon Lagoon, Dinosaur World, Orlando eye, Madam Tussauds, Sealife Center and Green Meadows Petting farm. Also fitted in a trip to the cinema on our last night as we had park hopped the parks to meet our fave characters and watch the 3pm parade one last time so by night we needed a sit down for a few hours.

Fp, Magic bands and Memory maker are the best thing since sliced bread!! 411 I've came home with and I have some really really good ones.

This was my 1st time on I-drive and I wasn't keen, it was far too busy for me. Sticking to LBV or a villa in future.

Mickeys Backyard Bbq strawberry....well my 3yr old hated it lol was too noisy for him, my 1yr old wanted to get involved but it had too many pushy parent's and kids and my Dd wasn't quite big enough to deal with it. I thought my PIL would hate it but they loved it, I thought it was good but my own DC's ruined it for me by moaning Grin

Flight on the Dreamliner was good, only downside was I got landed with unsupervised children behind me which were doing my nut in while the adults sat 20 rows down. Flight back was much more relaxing. Lovely staff tho and a quick flight.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 24/06/2015 14:17

Welcome home, Dog! Though it sucks to be home, I'm sure :( Glad you all had a fantastic time, BBQ aside :)

StrawberrytallCake · 24/06/2015 14:57

Welcome home!

Gahhh so sorry about the BBQ, at least your PIL loved it? Shame about the pushy parents.

Glad to hear the flight was good, what was your best day? How was the weather? What did you watch? I'm considering going to watch Inside Out because it's not here for a while and looks v funny.

BloodyDogHairs · 24/06/2015 15:09

Honestly I couldn't pick a best one, they were all fab Grin best character meets were talking Mickey Mouse in MK (I fp him so skipped a 50 min wait), I also FP us the character meets at Epcot. That's where you meet Mickey, Goofy and Minnie in a row! We did that twice as the 1st time was so good! Mickey picked my 3yr old up and spun him around lol then my 1yr old dd started blowing raspberries at Goofy which had everyone laughing. Minnie also kept pulling us back when we were leaving...it was so funny.

FP for parades is a waste so I cancelled the ones I did as there was loads of space across from the FP section.

I enjoyed the Bbq but I think my DC's were just too shy for it, lovely seeing Wilderness lodge too....I got us lost in the car on the way home so I got to drive round it all having a nosey.

BloodyDogHairs · 24/06/2015 15:13

The weather was roasting, too hot at times!

I took the little ones to see Inside Out and my DH took the older 2 dc's to see Jurassic Park. Inside out was ok, It started off funny but got boring at the end, my 3yr old DS loved it (it was his 1st time going to a cinema)

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 24/06/2015 16:10

Did you do FP for Wishes, Dog? That's the one I'm considering but it has mixed reviews.

BloodyDogHairs · 24/06/2015 16:19

I had Wishes FP for the last night but cancelled it as on our last day we decided to do Mk then Epcot then back to mk for the parade. After the parade we headed for a Domino's pizza to eat at the hotel with the intention of going back for fireworks but we were too shattered so opted for the cinema.

My Pil stopped coming with us on day 9 as they couldn't keep up the pace so stayed at the hotel.

BaconAndAvocado · 24/06/2015 20:52

Hello all, we're going to Florida in 45 days, so says the Disney Countdown app!

Haven't been on here in a while but I'm getting stuck into the hardcore planning now.
