P20- too good to be true?

Has anyone with fair skin actually used this and only had to apply once a day and not burned?

My friends skin is really fair and burns easily , she swears by it

Hulababy · 12/06/2014 20:42

I burn easily but have never had an issues using P20 (or Ultrasun - the other once a day we use.) Have used it in very hot dry heat - Vegas - and very hot humid heat (Florida) and of signs of burning. DH and DD use it too.

misspepper · 12/06/2014 20:57

I have been using it for a fair few years in 25+ degrees and in and out of the water and won't use anything else.
As with most sun creams it can stain pale coloured tops and the smell can take a bit of getting used to.

Singlesuzie · 12/06/2014 20:58

I burn very easily and would only ever use P20 now. Upu can get it right up to factor 50 too. Defjnitley worth it.

rookiemater · 12/06/2014 21:10

I use it and think it's great but watch out for white tops. I also top up with factor 50 occasionally during the day for shoulders and face, but because of the P20 I don't burn

Lizzylou · 12/06/2014 21:15

My dc hate P20, really makes them all snuffly and can't be used anywhere near their faces.
I use a once a day factor 40, by Calypso I think for school days (boys are fair), but spend hours applying and reapplying cream when we go away. Have bought rash vests for our holiday in summer, what is Ultrasun like? Is it similar to P20?

CMOTDibbler · 12/06/2014 21:16

I am seriously impressed with it - we got free samples of it at a triathlon show, and as I burn very, very easily I used it on ds and dh first, then have been using it on my arms and legs and will now buy the factor 50 for my face/shoulders/chest.

Goes on very easily too, I've been wedded to Soltan Once 50 for the last few years and though it works, its thick and gloopy to get on, wheras P20 sprays on and rubs in pretty instantly

PrincessOfChina · 12/06/2014 21:17

I use Boots Once but it certainly works for me and I'm very freckly.

Hulababy · 12/06/2014 21:19

Ultrasun is a once a day sun screen too. But it is a cream rather than an oil type base.

Both stain clothes, but all sun creams do ime.

JKSLtd · 12/06/2014 21:20

Works for me. I'm either white or pink.

You have to remember to put it on in the morning and let it dry a bit.

Ledkr · 12/06/2014 21:23

I have a small ginger child who used to burn even with sun cream I put p20 on her each morning and its been amazing, she remains milky white.

TheNumberfaker · 12/06/2014 21:24

My little blondie has never burnt with Ultrasun.

TippiShagpile · 12/06/2014 21:25

I use it on my blond fair skinned children every day for school. It smells a bit nippy but works amazingly well, from 8 until bath time (and they spend hours outside)

MellowYellowWag · 12/06/2014 21:25

P20 is brilliant but you must use it correctly. Unless it has changed recently the instructions tell you not to use some shower gels/shampoos/conditioners before applying it so it 'bonds' to the skin. I always shower using only soap prior to applying. I also would recommend applying it whilst naked to ensure you don't miss any bits around swimsuits etc.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 12/06/2014 21:29

I'm pale and freckly and used it abroad last summer with no problems.

It does smell a bit though! Grin

Lizzylou · 12/06/2014 21:32

Aah, Ultra sun sounds better if it is a cream, think it is the lotion types that bother the dc, thanks Smile

FluffyDucky · 12/06/2014 21:32

I swear by it, it's the only one I use one my body. I am very pale (I will burn if I look at a lightbulb for too long!) but I do not go pink or red or burn at all! I don't use it on my face though, I prefer a facial sunscreen for that.
I loves it!

OldCatLady · 12/06/2014 21:43

It's a bit stinky but other than that AMAZING! I am fair/ginger and burn easily, I get rashes with EVERY other sun cream except this. Lasts all day, even through swimming, perfect on busy summer days when you don't want to keep reapplying!

EverythingsDozy · 12/06/2014 21:47

Okay I think I'm going against the grain here but nooooooo!!!
I burned so badly after using p20. I was in absolute agony! Now I am super vigilant about putting sun cream on me and DC!

Singlesuzie · 12/06/2014 21:57

Everythingsdozy- is there any chance the bottle was out of date or an old opened one? I brought a year old one on holiday and burnt, couldnt work out why until my friend realised it was one from the year before.

Ledkr · 12/06/2014 21:58

I heard of someone burning too but dd never has I wonder if there's the odd faulty batch?

Bunbaker · 12/06/2014 22:05

I used the Calypso one which is similar. You have to apply it about 45 minutes before going into the sun. If you didn't do this that might be the reason you burned EverythingsDozy

CecyHall · 12/06/2014 22:09

I didn't burn but found it a greasy pain in the arse to put on and I felt coated all day.

Much prefer Ultrasun.

Bunbaker · 12/06/2014 22:20

The smell is vile as well.

readyforno2 · 12/06/2014 22:22

Redhead here... Just need to look at the sun and I'm burnt!!
P20 is brilliant. We were in the Caribbean a couple of years ago and I didn't burn once. Highly recommend it
