P20- too good to be true?

Has anyone with fair skin actually used this and only had to apply once a day and not burned?

I'm confused about p20. If you use factor 20 version isn't it still only factor 20 ie 20 x burning time? So even if it doesn't come off during the day you'd need to reapply? For my DP who is blond ish ginger his burning time is about 2 minutes!

readyforno2 · 12/06/2014 22:23

Also I put it on ds who was 3 at the time and he didn't burn either

piratecat · 12/06/2014 22:29

bigpaws, i am also confused by it, it used to be just the one type P20, so why is it now in 30 and 50, if it's not meant to burn in the first place?

Singlesuzie · 12/06/2014 22:30

I like the smell Blush

tealover1985 · 12/06/2014 22:35

Hmmm I might invest, saw it the other day and it's about 25 quid so wanted to see what people thought first. OH swears by it but doesn't really burn anyway. I am paler than pale! So it's a pita constantly reapplying the normal stuff. All I need now is my passport to come...

If you have a Savers store near to you, check if they have it. I paid £15 recently. Using spf50 P20 for first time over last couple of weeks.

I've not burned yet and the spray means it's easy to cover skin fully. The only downside I've noticed, is it's alcohol based I think, so might sting a bit. My DD has slight eczema and she complained this morning as her arms hurt.

readyforno2 · 12/06/2014 22:44

If you have a costco nearby it's far cheaper in there

Singlesuzie · 12/06/2014 22:46

Dont pay £25 for it! Try ebay an amazon. I dont know if semi chem exists outside of NI but that is where i got mine for £14.

Singlesuzie · 12/06/2014 22:47

Yes it stings if you have any nicks.

EverythingsDozy · 12/06/2014 22:48

It was definitely brand new and we applied it before breakfast and so more than 45 minutes! It was years ago so it might have changed now but I haven't risked it since, I would rather have the faff of reapplying!

BigPawsBrown · 12/06/2014 22:50

It was 50% off (and not vat) in duty free at the airport, and 50% off at Lloyd chemists a few weeks ago

hillyhilly · 12/06/2014 23:15

Fantastic stuff, I never burn and weirdly seem never to miss a bit whereas I always end up a patchwork of burnt bits with other creams.
I don't much love it on my face due to the smell so I. Tend to slap factor 50 on that.

iK8 · 12/06/2014 23:23

There used to be an issue with it not being great for UVA protection although brilliant for UVB.

I'll look it up...

iK8 · 12/06/2014 23:30

Doesn't look like that's the case any more, which is great! P20 is the scent of my childhood holidays :)

Ledkr · 13/06/2014 09:59

Yes mine was 14 quid in savers too.
Just sent red head dd to nursery smothered in it and felt smug as others were handing over their creams to reapply later.

Primrose123 · 13/06/2014 10:21

I am fair skinned and freckly, and when I used it I burned. However, that was about 20 years ago, so it might have improved since then.

I might try it again if I can find it at a reasonable price.

Those of you who are fair skinned and use it, do you get a faint tan without burning, or do you remain completely white?

FuckyNell · 13/06/2014 10:28

I prefer ultrasun. The facial one is very good all year round. I use the body one on backs of my hands all year.

Qvc is where I buy mine from, there's easy pay offers on son eat the mo too. Also if you don't like it you can send it back :)

FuckyNell · 13/06/2014 10:29

Also sunsense is excellent. They do a daily facial tinted one spf50. Nit sure if they're once a day though

flowery · 13/06/2014 10:41

We use it, for DH and I and DS1 although DS2 needs a hypoallergenic one so we use Boots Once for him.

I find P20 so much easier to apply, especially now you can get it in spray format, really quick to do DS1 in the morning before school.

I am very fair and have never burnt using it, even on holiday in Egypt.
