Hi Carrier, separately would be cheaper I think. Re flights, when they get released 11 months in advance so worth checking then. Do you have any air miles, avios or flying club points you could use to bring price down. Also Norwegain Air fly direct to Orlando so worth checking their prices too.

Jagsy · 11/04/2015 15:18

Her ions, reading your updates is making me feel excited about our trip. We are planning kids first visit to universal and also looking to book one night onsite for express passes. Look forward to reading about your experience there.

Is it cheaper to fly into Miami, or Orlando, or anywhere else round abouts there? Is there the equivalent of luton?

Jagsy · 11/04/2015 15:37

Chocolate, don't know about equivalent to Luton, but flying into Tampa can be cheaper especially with BA.

HermioneWeasley · 11/04/2015 15:56

chocolate honestly, speak to Wayne at dial a flight. He will give advice and options on cheapest airports, sometimes cheaper if you fly (for example ) into New York and then do a domestic transfer

HermioneWeasley · 11/04/2015 15:58

carrier not sure on london flight prices, but we booked a fly drive package and it was more or less the same price as flights alone. Villa was same price thru agent or direct. We are in Windsor hills which is a villa complex v close to Disney

Fxckedmywayuptothetop · 11/04/2015 17:43

We're going for the third time on the 20th June - 7th July!!!! I'm so excited maybe even more so than the kids Grin

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 11/04/2015 17:50

Jaggy, we'll overlap with you by a few days! Are you going to Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party?

Chesty, we are going to have a family Dr Who theme for our outfits - I've spent the last 2 or 3 hours looking at ideas! :) Mine also relies on me losing about 3 stone a few pounds though. I am going to be the Tardis - the one I have my eye on is way out of my price range and body shape-range but I am drooling over its utter gorgeousness.

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 11/04/2015 17:55

In fact, I've just bought myself a wig for the first part of my outfit. DD scornfully said "oh my god, you're going to be SO embarrassed walking around the park wearing THAT..." :(

ChestyNut · 11/04/2015 18:23

Lucas that outfit is fabulous!!

HermioneWeasley · 11/04/2015 20:20

Lucas, that dress is amazing! DW is coveting it. You'll be a total nerd magnet

Jagsy · 11/04/2015 20:30

Lucas which dates are you going? I am looking into booking MNSSHP, if I can save enough. It would be great as we have never been. Is there a date which would be less crowded? Your choice of outfit is fab!

BloodyDogHairs · 11/04/2015 21:39

lucas Wow what a great outfit!

BloodyDogHairs · 11/04/2015 21:40

fxck I'll have 2 days left of my holiday when you are starting your holiday Grin

Jagsy · 11/04/2015 21:57

Fxck, I am so excited too! Keeping it secret from them, DH does not feel the same as I do about Disney so will be sharing my excitement here. :)

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 12/04/2015 00:20

I won't be wearing that, I hasten to add! It's just the one I wish I could wear. Mine will prob be a cheap homemade thing like this

Jagsy, we are going 9th to 23rd October. Tuesdays are the best night for MNSSHP low crowds, and the further away from the 31st the better.

HermioneWeasley · 12/04/2015 04:04

First tropical storm tonight - kids couldn't believe it!

StrawberryTallCake · 12/04/2015 07:40

We'll be there whilst you are fcxk

I've got to keep it quiet too Jagsy it is very difficult. I don't really want to but dh does, he seems to think surprise everything is better but I'd rather give them something to look forward to after the school term. Actually I have told my 2yo repeatedly because she doesn't really know what I'm talking about. 'Do you want to go on holiday? On a plane?' And 'would you like to meet Rapunzel?' Are my favourite things to say - gets rid of some of my secret keeping pressure.

Fxckedmywayuptothetop · 12/04/2015 08:11

In regard to surprising them; I would tell them a week or so before as then they still have time to get really excited but can also help pack there own cases so they don't leave anything they want! We did this the first time we went and did a treasure hunt on Christmas Day for them and they loved it, they still have 4 months of excitement though, I think maybe even the day before is okay but otherwise they have no time to get excited Smile also didn't mention before but we are staying at the Saratoga springs resort (because that was the cheapest hotel for the dining plan with 1 sit down 1 quick service and 1 snack per person per day) Grin

BaconAndAvocado · 12/04/2015 09:42

Tee hee we told our DCs 18 months before our holiday, I just couldn't contain myself!

They were extremely excited at first, whereas I have maintained a hardcore level of delight throughout Smile

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 12/04/2015 10:31

I think telling them beforehand is nice, as they have all that time to get excited. I've also surprised mine in the past and it's failed spectacularly - Gogle will tell you that this happens a lot :) They are often decidedly underwhelmed :(

StrawberryTallCake · 12/04/2015 11:01

Dh wants to tell them on the plane??? I might have to accidentally leave my computer open on the dibb or something for dd1 to see. I hate surprises, they make me anxious and would much prefer the anticipation. we might really piss off some passengers having over excited children too

DonVitoCorleone · 12/04/2015 11:14

This thread is making me very excited, reading updates from people who are there now!

BloodyDogHairs · 12/04/2015 11:49

strawberry teach your 2 year old to shout "we're going there" every time the Disney advert comes on Grin
