Thanks for the recs! I'll spend the afternoon looking at them (instead of ironing!)

Awks · 25/01/2015 10:23

It's fab reading about everyone else's plans. We're going on August for a couple of weeks - 10 nights in a villa near Championsgate (stayed near there before in a condo and like the fact it's just off the I4 and really easy to get everywhere). Then we're going to St Petes for 4 nights and flying home from Tampa.

Can't wait to do our schedule but am waiting till April as then I can buy Touringplans as you get 12 month subscription and as we're going again Easter 2015 we can get 2 holidays out of one £12 subscription. We used it last year and it was brilliant, even at Easter we didn't really queue that much but I was a bit anal about getting everyone up

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 25/01/2015 12:27

Awks, what is good about TouringPlans' planner? I use the free Dibb one which is great but now I'm wondering whether I need the TouringPlans one instead :)

ChestyTheSnowman · 25/01/2015 12:49

Definitely beats ironing emma Grin

Do I need a touring plan awks?

Can't believe how rubbish the dollar rate is!

Tiredemma · 25/01/2015 12:55

Reunion resort is looking like a winner!

Going to look at beach resorts too now

Tiredemma · 25/01/2015 13:45

What are St petes and clearwater like? Or are smaller beach resorts better?

( I have two teenagers that will still want entertaining after 10 days in Orlando)

mrscumberbatch · 25/01/2015 13:49

St Petes is lovely, we prefer Fort Myers though.

petitdonkey · 25/01/2015 18:21

Emma - Championsgate that Awks mentioned is just around the corner from Reunion too. The villa company I liked to has properties there too.

ChestyTheSnowman · 27/01/2015 09:39

How is everyone? 237 sleeps Grin

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 27/01/2015 10:42

Grin @ Chesty. 254 sleeps here. DH bought me one of these for my birthday :)

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 27/01/2015 10:42

How long are you going for, Chesty? Wondering if we will overlap...!

ChestyTheSnowman · 27/01/2015 11:10

15 nights lucas

We got a minions countdown from a lady on the Dibb with hooks that you hang your numbers Grin

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 27/01/2015 11:31

We will miss each other by a few days then - can have a good natter when we get back :)

ChestyTheSnowman · 27/01/2015 12:09

And plan for the next one? Grin

So who's first on the thread to go?
I'm September 21st......

bacon were are you?

BaconAndAvocado · 27/01/2015 19:46

Hi chesty and all you other Disney maniacs Smile

Had a migraine yesterday, probably from all,the screen time I've been indulging in recently!

Sounds like a few of us are going Stateside at the same time? Not sure if the schedule could cope with a MN meet up!

chesty it's less than 200 sleeps for us!!! Was it you who has a Touring Plan? Are they any good?

lucas loving the Disney count down wooden chart thang. Please ask your exceedingly thoughtful DH where he got it!

Been having a gander at the trip, reports on the Dibb........I'm kind of living my holiday online before I even get there Grin

MissBeehiving · 27/01/2015 21:28

I'm October 22nd..

babylily · 27/01/2015 21:44

oooh, loving this thread.

We are off to Disney in 12 days.
12 Days!!!
Tickets arrived yesterday.

We booked with Disney holidays, as it actually worked out cheaper than doing it ourselves (free dining, 14 days for price of 7 on tickets, $200 giftcard, free transfers etc).
It is supposed to be a one off holiday......

Cases half packed. I am going with trusty fitflops for the walking while my dh and DCs can rock the crocs.

ChestyTheSnowman · 27/01/2015 22:23

12 days Envy

Glad your feeling better bacon it wasn't me with the TP.

Have started in my be slimmer for Florida kick, am staaaarving

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 27/01/2015 22:40

Bacon, DH got it from ebay, apparently. It wsan't the exact one I linked to but a search for 'Disney countdown sign' or 'Disney countdown blackboard' should fine plenty. I did have to go over this one with blackboard paint to be able to write on it though.

Am sort of Envy, babylily - but I have far too much planning to be done to go that soon :) I bought a suitcase today and 10 ponchose for £2.50 from ebay! We go through ponchos like anything, plus it gives one set time to dry off while you take the other set out.

Anybody want a top tip? Get one of these - folds flat in a suitacase and it keeps all your dirty laundry in one place for only a quid. I read this on the Dibb last year and it was one of the best things we took - worryingly, I'm not joking :)

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 27/01/2015 22:47

Bacon, it was someone upthread who had a Touring Plan, not me, but I know you can get a free one with Basic (ie. free) Access to TouringPlans.com - I'm not sure if the playing ones have any extra benefits?

I did the free one last year and it was very detailed but I'm not sure I'll bother this year as we're going more out of season.

BaconAndAvocado · 27/01/2015 23:07

Me and DH are also trying to get thin for Florida chesty

He has lost 3lb in a week and I've just come back from my book group having eaten 3 tonnes of olives and 2 bags of tortilla chips........a slight exaggeration but you get the idea.

12 days to go babylily I can't imagine what heightened state of euphoria I will be in at that stage.

Will have a look on ebay lucas It's going to be just like an advent calendar but longer and with ears Smile

LucasNorthsTwiglets · 28/01/2015 07:48

Also trying to lose loads of weight here! We could have our own 'Florida and Ryvita' thread :) I have a tough-but-very-quick diet that I do and I lost loads on it but then Christmas happened, oops Blush I need to find a clear month when I can do it again but that's not happened yet! (it's one that you can't really have a day off from). Got to make a bit of extra room for those Golden Corral breakfasts!

LOL @ longer and with ears Grin

ChestyTheSnowman · 28/01/2015 18:46

Thread sounds good lucas Smile

I'm trying slower and steady as lost a big amount really quickly couple of years ago but now fatter than when I started Blush

Someone bought in shortbreads and other buns to work today. I resisted.

babylily · 28/01/2015 18:56

11 sleeps.
I am feeling slightly sick with excitement and nerves.
Won't be happy until we are on the first plane and it has taken off in good time to connect in London!
Will we have packed enough? What will I dress the children in to travel? WIll our 3 year old sit for more than 5 minutes. Will we have enough clothes for all the weathers. Will we have enough space in the extra bag for the souvenirs!
I am very organised but still live in fear of forgetting something or missing something vital.
This time next week I will be seriously high.

ChestyTheSnowman · 28/01/2015 19:03

I'll be to incoherent to speak at 11 days baby Grin

I'd think soft loose clothes for DC, leggings and top or joggers?
Have you got a bag of entertainment for them? Snacks, small toys, I pad if you have one for 3 year old?
