Private Villas with pool in Spain?? Where in Spain?

Angeliz · 26/04/2006 09:48

Hi all.
Well we've never been further than Ireland with the girls. We usually go to Haven typoe places as dd1 loves them but after a disastrous weekend there recently we have decided that this sumeer, before the third baby arrives, a week in Spain would be lovely.
We would like a Private villa with pool so the girls have total freedom and control and also so i won't have to bera my bodyGrin
SO, i don't mind if we're not in a town but a beach would be nice close by (but not a neccessity) and at least a little shop. Obviously don't car about bars but a restaurant would be a plus.

Any ideas?
Also would the weather be nice at the end of June?

We are going to a villa in Majorca in May half term. The villa is gorgeous and is walking distance to the beach/shops etc. I think it cost £1500 for the week.

Yes, weather should be nice in May, never mind June.

Have a trawl around \link{http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/Spain/r58.htm\Holiday Rentals,} Angeliz. Pick an area and then ouyt in your dates and the pool and see what comes up.

We went to Costa del Sol in April and it was hot most of the time. In June it might be too hot for you - the Balearics would be cooler than the mainland.

GDG · 26/04/2006 09:53

I don't know if you might find it a problem getting one now, especially if you need school hols - if not, you may be OK.

Try Villaparade.co.uk

Jools knows a good site too and they are reasonable prices - I'll find out what it's called and report back!

I've just come back from \link{https://www.vintagetravel.co.uk/andalucia_villa_details.cfm?p_id=332\here}, it was fab. Whilst you might not want this same villa (it was very nice though and the pool is secure), the place it is in, called 'Roche' is very nice, on a huge gorgeous, empty, very clean sandy beach, with a playground, some small shops and a restaurant. You do need a car though, but then hire cars are v. cheap in Spain.
Roche is on the Costa de la Luz, which is the bit between Gibraltar and Portugal (sort of, anyway!). It's a 2.5 hour drive from Malaga airport, but believe me, it is so worth it. It's nothing like the Costa del Sol, the Costa de la Luz is still largely unspoilt and really quiet most of the time (August is high season and it does get busy with Spaniards then).
We've been to Roche 7 times now, it's always lovely. :)

\link{http://www.holiday-rentals.co.uk/Spain/Minorca-Menorca/holiday-villa-Binibeca/p11487.htm\Minorca} - 400m to beach, 12k from airport, £950 a week in June. (And £1500 in August, cod Smile)

Angeliz · 26/04/2006 09:56

Oh shit i always leave it late!!

I'll check out those sites, cheers all and keep them coming. I want to book tonight.

Can't wait, i'd go tomorrow!

just noticed that there are no pics of the pool (they've only had it finished just before we arrived) - it's a huge pool (4.4 x 9.5 m) and really beautifully done (the whole house is lovely but the kitchen was a bit geriatric). Nice big garden, too, and a 1 minute walk from the beach.

Gingerbear · 26/04/2006 10:04

My friend has one - 3 bedrooms, private pool, right on the beach in Denia- an hour's drive from Alicante or Valencia Airport. Would be about £800 for the week in June. We are staying there in July, it is lovely.
CAT me if you are interested.

Angeliz · 26/04/2006 10:10

geekgirl, is the pool in the garden?
Private?
I really want to go for that but am a bit wary as i can't see the pool!

OP posts:
geekgrrl · 26/04/2006 10:19

the pool is in the garden, it's enclosed by the house and low walls with gates. They've changed the downstairs of the house a bit - the bit of the garden shown in the top picture is now the pool area (it's really beautifully done, with non-slips stone flooring, sun loungers etc) and the front door has been moved to the side.

geekgrrl · 26/04/2006 10:19

and yes it's really private. People would have to peer through the hedge to see you.

Angeliz · 26/04/2006 10:20

geekgirl my dd2 is just turned 1. Would you say that villa is baby freindle as there is a week free and i want to book now!Grin

oh, and the owner is a Brit living just up the road with young kids of his own, he was really friendly and helpful, kept checking that everything was fine and quietly cleaned the pool almost every morning before we'd even got up.

geekgrrl · 26/04/2006 10:23

yes, it is lovely and good with a baby. I went with a 6 yr old, a 5 yr old with SN and a 2 yr old, and found it very good for the children.
I think they charge £20 for a travel cot though which is annoying, unless you take your own.

Berries · 26/04/2006 10:27

I'll second costa de la luz - we went slightly further up (Chiclana) & had a great time.

JanH · 26/04/2006 10:28

That one does look fab, geekgrrl. And it has a chim-chiminee in the garden!

I have actually fallen in love with the place already!
What time does he come and clean the pool?
I'd be up from 6 each day tbh so would that be easy to do ourselves?

Just rang and told my Mam and she said can i come?Grin

We always use Sealand Villas for our hols - just come back and had a 10 people luxury villa (and it was!!) for £1k.

Will be really hot at the end of June if you aren't used to it be careful!!!!

geekgrrl · 26/04/2006 10:34

Angeliz have you booked yet? Tell them I recommended it (we came back on Sunday, stayed for 2 weeks). :)

Angeliz · 26/04/2006 10:34

How hot will it be Twinkie on 16th June?
I'm a bit wary about the 1 year old!
