We are off to DisneyWorld next year and I am already really excited about it. Anyone else? I'd love to compare notes on what you are doing to prepare. I'm starting to think about how to do a big surprise for the DC when we tell them we are going.

Could cry. DD in hospital for viral infection and observation over the weekend. Waiting to see how much more our travel insurance is going to cost and whether we can still go. I've already paid £900.

Yet again, bloody cancer.

Groovee · 22/07/2013 10:53

Awww Kinky, so sorry, hope your dd improves and is well enough to get home xxx

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 22/07/2013 12:59

Kinky I hope she's ok x

TheHumancatapult · 22/07/2013 13:49

Awww no kinky hope Dd picks up

Hmm how many shorts /tshirt DO you reckon need take for DC . We're staying PoFq so whole no personal washer am happy chuck load in

TheHumancatapult · 22/07/2013 13:50

Kinky if already paid out for insurance and declared cancer before hand it should not go up

KinkyDorito · 22/07/2013 13:54

TheHumancatapult - they've put it down as a virus and an extra stay in hospital. They won't give me a decision until we've been back for a check up at clinic on Weds. Thoroughly fed up and expecting them to try and put it up. Sad

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/07/2013 14:20

Oh dear Kinky, I hope she gets better soon.

TheHuman - there is a launderette near the pool at POFQ. We always take enough for a week and wash half way through. The washers and driers are very quick.

If you are heading to Disney, this is the ultimate website for tips, tricks and money saving: www.mousesavers.com

It's not very slick, but the lady who runs the site is devoted.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/07/2013 14:56

I think the Dibb is much better, personally, they are the complete experts!

missinglalaland · 22/07/2013 15:55

Thanks Anne, that one is new to me!

Groovee · 22/07/2013 16:41

Just ignore the bitchy ones on the dibb. Some of them can be very rude. But most are ok x

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/07/2013 17:59

Really Groovee? I have never come across any bitchiness on the Dibb. Hmm.

They are always endlessly patient with people asking the same questions over and over. I have never seen anything but really good advice and helpful suggestions.

Groovee · 23/07/2013 09:00

I've seen a lot of bitchiness in recent months Anne. One person told me not to get smart when I linked to the car seat recommendations. Dh was not amused when he read that as he has his own account. Someone the other day was taking the piss out of people who don't do parades and like to return to the villa in the evenings to have pool time. I think it's YOUR holiday, do what you want. Well except on the plane. Do not get so drunk that you are annoying everyone around you!!!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/07/2013 09:29

Well I'm shocked, I've never seen that. How odd.

Normally you get a whole range who happily co-exist! I mean, I can't understand why anyone would want their daughter to have the hair-scraped-back makeover at Bibbity-Bobbity-Boutique (why?? I have never seen a Disney princess with that hairstyle) but each to their own. It is about whatever makes you happy.

I've asked and answered loads of questions on there and have never seen anyone grumble, even when it is the millionth question about when to get your ESTA! I hope this is a blip and it goes back to being a friendly site again.

Groovee · 23/07/2013 12:59

Me too Anne as I've been there since 2007. The last year I've seen some very rude people. I told someone off last week for slagging people who buy the ultimate ticket. They didn't respond.

Apparently BBB are changing the hairstyles to be loose styles!

AnneEyhtMeyer · 23/07/2013 16:37

I've been there since about the same time, Groovee.

What on Earth is wrong with the Ultimate ticket? We always get that - it is great value if you are going to focus on Disney parks as we do as we have a DD who is too young for Universal. Some people!

So glad to hear about BBB changing the hairstyles. The scraped-back-rock-hard-with-hairspray look is not a good one. Any idea when they are changing them? We go again in October next year and DD would love it but I won't go as long as they do the current styling!

Groovee · 23/07/2013 19:10

We always get the ultimate ticket. I worked out for us it was £9 a day. Where on earth could you get a ticket for disney that cheap? The free mini golf before 4pm was fab too and being able to nip between parks. I think we're very lucky to get it.

I believe BBB have changed them now according to people on the disboards. Dd is too old so hadn't looked into it more. I did see some girls coming out of the one at the Castle with loose styles and a mum moaning that she had to pay for the tiara. But they looked more sleeping beauty style for a change.

HokeyCokeyPigInAPokey · 23/07/2013 20:49

I am going in the morning!!!!!!! So excited!!!!

Groovee · 24/07/2013 08:49

Have a fab holiday Hokey xx

TheHumancatapult · 24/07/2013 16:27

Hokey

Hopefully your on your way

I'm fed up waiting am do tempted to start packing

TheHumancatapult · 24/07/2013 16:28

Where you say best luggage scales are from ?

Groovee · 24/07/2013 16:36

Start packing Human, it's never too early. I borrowed MIL's which I think were from M&S.

TheHumancatapult · 24/07/2013 16:43

Kinky

How is Dd ?

AnneEyhtMeyer · 24/07/2013 20:02

Get packing Human!

I never really ever stop packing for holidays. Blush I always have my packing list on the go, my document wallet filled with all the tickets & passports, and my holiday washbag is always packed and ready!

KinkyDorito · 24/07/2013 20:37

Hi Human - she went to clinic today and they were happy with her. Thankfully insurance decided not to charge for virus, which is great news! However, she has been told to see a dentist asap over a pain in her jaw and neck that was there at the weekend and may be related. If they find something there (apt tomorrow), we will need to declare it. Hoping she's okay. We should be fine to go, but not going to start getting excited until we get the apt out of the way.

I will start packing after the weekend. I hope this isn't too late!
