Peppa Pig World

maras2 · 08/06/2012 22:18

If you're in the W.Mids.Thomas World at Drayton Manor was great for our 2 year old DGS. last year.

We're taking 17 month old to Alton Towers in a couple of weeks so will let you know. I'm told that it does have a good section for little ones and i really hope so because we're not interested in the other stuff really.

WorraLiberty · 08/06/2012 22:20

I thought when they're under 3 that means you get to avoid the hellish theme parks because they're still happy with soft play? Grin

Or am I freakishly out of touch?

supadupapupascupa · 08/06/2012 22:20

east midlands there is sundown adventureland. very good imo.

Paultons Park/Peppa Pig World in Romsey nr Southampton

MsMarple · 08/06/2012 22:23

Chessington World of Adventures is good - there are lots of animals and the sealife centre, and there are quite a lot of rides that little ones can go on with an adult, at least one in each of the themed areas as I remember. If you go midweek during term time it is generally quiet, and they do a special midweek ticket for an adult with a preschool child for £15 if you book in advance online.

DS also really liked Drayton Manor when he was 3 - there is a whole Thomas Land there so he was in his element at the time!

CurlyhairedAssassin · 08/06/2012 22:28

Drayton Manor by far! Thomas Land is fantastic! Mine have have outgrown it now so we have visited a good few other theme parks. We found that Alton Towers just did not have enough for little ones to justify the extortionate cost. My 5 year old wasn't tall enough for a lot of the stuff like log flume so a lot of rides were not open to him as much as he wanted to go on them.

Also with Drayton manor, there are other slightly more adventurous rides outside of the Thomas Land bit which are good as well to keep slightly older siblings happy and for more adventurous 2 year olds.

And it has a zoo as well if you get bored of the rides. We have never paid entrance fees, instead using our Tesco clubcard vouchers - bargain!

thanksamillion · 08/06/2012 22:29

If by any chance you're in Norfolk then Pettits Animal Adventure Park is the place to go.

Feenie · 08/06/2012 22:29

Yep, Thomasland - lots and lots of rides for little people.

TheOneWithTheHair · 08/06/2012 22:31

I agree with Workshy. Gullivers.

Shelly32 · 09/06/2012 11:00

Wow! Thank you for all the great advice! I think it's going to be a toss up between Peppa and Drayton Manor! Cheers Smile

CurleyhairedAssassin Just re-read your post. Drayton it is! FYI , most of you probably know though, Clubcard vouchers are worth X3 on most theme parks/days out up until the end of this weekend!

Peppa pig world is fantastic

Sirzy · 09/06/2012 13:48

Thomas land is fantastic, we went last Christmas and will be going again this year. Ds was just turned 2 (and is very short) but everything he wanted to go on he could.

comedycentral · 09/06/2012 13:50

Twin lakes in Melton Mowbray s fab, has a bit of everything there

MardyBra · 09/06/2012 15:04

Yes. YABU.

CatherineHMumsnet · 09/06/2012 15:11

Hi there - we're going to move this thread into Days Out recommendations - probably a better place for it than AIBU.

albertswearengen · 09/06/2012 15:16

We liked Flamingo Land as it wasn't busy mid week and there was the zoo bit. At Paulton the Peppa Pig World was v busy even mid week as it was aimed at just under 5's but the rides our 3 year old could go on in the main part of the park were more fun and no queues . Drayton Manor with Thomas Land was good too.

Moshlingmummy · 09/06/2012 15:19

Peppa pig world @ paultons is far better than Drayton manor imo. Do you have a ds or a dd? We have one of each and I would say they both preferred pp world.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/06/2012 15:37

YY Gullivers- I took my DC for Hallowe'en when they were 10 and 7 (IIRC) but I reckoned they were at the 'upper age limit' so wouldn't take them back. The rides are all centred round small children, the park itself (we went to Milton Keynes) was well laid out and the staff were really good and friendly/helpful.
