Sorry to hijack your thread op, but we're planning a trip to Peppa world soon. Glad lots of you say it's worth going. Does anyone have any recommendations for where to stay nearby?

We actually went as a day trip from Bournemouth sorry.

I would say head straight to peppa pig bits as soon as gates open as it gets busy, also there are two splash park bits so take swim suit for the kids. We went on a wkend when Mr Tumble was there, so park prob at capacity longest queues were 30mins.

Have also been to gullivers at Mk when ours were 4 and 1, they really enjoyed it, it is all for young kids tho it is a bit ropey in places!

If you're doing it as part of a longer stay timeforcake there are some lovely places to stay in the New Forest which is about 20mins away. If just one night solely to go to PP World there is a travelodge in Romsey and a pub/hotel at the end of the entrance I think there's a link on the website. We only live 20 mins away so have had annual passes for about 3yrs. Any questions feel free to pm me.

I would say most people head straight for the PP part so go and do the rest of the park first and then go to PP for the last 2-3 hours it will be quieter. Even without PP world it's a fabulous park. Tonnes to do, well laid out and maintained. Food there is awful though so definitely picnic. The waterpark bit in the main park is much bigger than the muddy puddles bit in PP world. The only downside is there are never offers on tickets and you can't use tesco/nectar points. Entrance is £21 over 1 metre tall. Best value is for kids over 90cm but under 100cm as they are free but most rides the height restriction is 90cm.

Gullivers World one in Warrington or one in Milton Keynes I think. Thomasland at Drayton Manor is really good too (both themeparks in one ticket). If you go on myvouchercodes.com and type in Drayton Manor they often have offers like 2 for 1 adult tickets. There is also a Nickleodeon Land at Blackpool Pleasure beach but I hate Blackpool Pleasure Beach with a passion

shelly it depends on the height of your children!!!!

LunarRose · 13/06/2012 12:25

Ahh, I see under three then Chessington - lots of small rides and there is the zoo and sealife

We've stayed at the Forest Lodge in Lyndhurst. Not the cheapest/closest option but the rooms have bunk beds for the DCs (very exciting!) and it has a swimming pool for hot days.

We have stayed there twice now. Last time we were there they had a wedding on and the music went on until quite late, but DCs liked it and we would go back.

Think there is a Premier Inn or similar right at Paulton's Park entrance but could be wrong.

We booked a hotel deal through the peppa pig world website which gave us two day's entry for the price of 1 so enjoyed 2 days at peppa pig world. My two are huge peppa fans so we managed to spend two full days there easily and didn't get chance to explore the rest of the park!

I agree with those who said Pettits, Sundown, Gullivers (been to Matlock and MK). I would also suggest Wheelgate in Notts (same company as Twin Lakes) or Dinosaur Adventure in Norfolk.
