Hi everyone, here's the new thread!

It's all the fault if social media. If no one posted it would just be everyone waiting and results would come once Unis have processed them (depts are quite small). But people live on DM sites and the angst gets worse(even though people often lie).
It round be nice if all results came out in a set day but but going to happen so dealing with the stress is part of the process. Hate to say it won't get better once a doctor (looking at you stupid MSRA exam !)

DD has just received her first offer! It’s from HYMS. The relief is palpable and she’s over the moon.
Newcastle is still her first option but she’s still waiting to hear from them.
Here’s hoping for more good news for all of your young folk soon.

@Curlyshabtree yay congratulations to your DD on her HYMS offer! great news and a welcome relief for you it being the first one. We are waiting on Newcastle and the slow release of offers is not appreciated here 😂.

Well done on the HYMS offers. I (and I think DD) are feeling a bit despondent now. It’s not looking good for Bham and she’s still waiting on Sheffield.

@Tsuipen is your YP also in the 'no offer yet' camp, together with @MyGreyBiscuit's son and my DD? Sorry, I have lost track of who is still waiting for their first! May they all get it!

She is. She has had 2 post-interview rejections, one from Oxford, one from Leeds.

Let's hope we all get that 1st one.

On Sheffield: according to some Reddit posts some people were put on a reserve list (and rejected on UCAS). Someone posted a screenshot of the letter as well. Ofc take it with a grain of salt...

Two of DDs friends got Newcastle Partners (so contextual) offers this evening. Top choice for one so she is absolutely delighted.

off to trawl reddit again to locate said letter!

Found it... they interviewed the week after us - maybe around the same time as others (I remember mentioning hotels!?!?)

Congratulations to those with offers. My DD is waiting to hear from ARU. This was her only interview. I believe they’ve begun making offers this week so it’s a tense wait between now and the end of March (which is when she was told she would hear)

Rejection from Birmingham this morning for DD. They have offered her a Biomed place and mentioned the scheme to transfer from
Biomed to Medicine, however on the link they included on the info for the the scheme it says students rejected from Medicine will not usually be considered for it, so it’s confusing.

I’m giving her time to process and have a think. Still waiting on Sheffield but it’s seeming like interviews are not her strong point.
