boarderline aspie. neither is nor isnt. response well if treated aspie, struggles badly if not.
Had recent issues at school, which has settled down a little bit but he has issues with social interaction, change, control, sensory stimulus, educational stimulus etc. Needs careful handling particularly during periods of stress. Hasnt bee coping well since november. seemed to get better and completely blew up about feb half term. been getting worse since then til i quit to start sorting out some of the mess.

Slugbrains · 22/04/2010 01:13

Oh and he has no risk and gets obsessional. current obsession is jumping from heights. hence the tree climbing/jumping and the jumping down the stairs from over half way up.

5yo. Problem is that i had done a lot of work with him to overcome the ocd, and a lot of the other issues and they put him in a situation which was ideal for him to test him. Which as he is so bright meant that he was undiagnosiable as the coping strategies normally put in place after diagnosis were already there.

it is all about ticking enough boxes for the specialists and if not enough are ticked they dont help with the bits that they can help with. When going through diagnosis process about 18mths ago we ended up with 12-14 specialists all having their input. It was a nightmare.

He gets there in the end but it takes a lot of work to sort it out. It is going to be a long journey again as he has gone backwards since i started pgce and stopped working with him on his issues. But he had to try to bope by himself at some point too. balance is hard.

Slugbrains · 22/04/2010 01:22
  • cope.

Everyone struggles. anyone who says they dont is lying. And that is my opinion. I can sort him out it is just hard with everything else that is/has been going on.

Morning everyone. Just met a friend for coffee, and bought an ACE French Connection dress for winter - very plain but thought it could be jazzed up a bit with the right jewelery. Diamonds would obv be best but I don't have any so summat cheap will have to do.

Also I'd previously got this necklace with dds names and dobs on, but the chain broke so bought a replacement chain. I am STOKED as they say here.

SAF do you know that chap?

Slugbrains · 22/04/2010 03:02
