OP posts:
TrillianAstra · 30/01/2010 16:20

Drawers are all glued, clothes in piles. Feel like I want to eat something but that's only cos I'm bored. DP is wrinting presentation for his interview on Monday so I'm not allowed the tv on. Clearing the desk in the spare room is too much work apparently.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 30/01/2010 16:21

OK, I am getting worried now, DC's still being very well behaved. Just been out to visit a friend, no fuss when asked to put on shoes, walked home, and playing quietly while I think about tea for them.

Bella - we had a 3kg piece as well. I am drooling at the thought of you making it and might have o do it again very soon.

hellsbelles · 30/01/2010 16:31

oh fanny - there must be something wrong with them sounds too good to be true doesn't it!

OK DH is back and normal services has been resumed

hellsbelles · 30/01/2010 16:38

flippen heck - is that gorgeous curly haired beauty with the initials CE - trills? I hadn't worked out who you were. Clever and gorgeous? Not fair!

jetcatisfrozen · 30/01/2010 16:50

Sazz - well done on your run

Bella - hope you ok now after some pampering!

Mitts, i did post a reply on FB but lost connection before it went up, so will redo it later - but suffice to say, we are pretty much in the same boat!

Well, check me out.... i have actually been to a posh make up counter and had a makeover Twas benefit, and it is lovely - have got primer and cream mixed on first, then concealer then tinted moisteriser. It looks very natural, which is what i wanted, and i am not bright red anymore She even managed to cover my black eye, while very tactfully not actually asking how it happened

so, i love the feel of these, love the look, but not the price - £85 for these 4 items alone AM off to see if i can get them cheaper on ebay

But, for those who use Benefit, does the cream that she mixes with the primer have to be £26.50 Dear John cream, or will any mosturising cream do?

hellsbelles · 30/01/2010 16:56

Jet that sounds so lovely. And the idea is to get ideas of colours, application techniques and stuff...then find cheaper versions so you don't have to pay the premium prices. Did they do your eye make up as well? What colours did they use?

IMO any day cream can be mixed with a primer...but I'm prepared to be told otherwise! Liz Earle does some nice ones that aren't too crazy priced. I might have some actually - what kind of skin do you have? I'll check when I get home on Monday if I have some spare.

TrillianAstra · 30/01/2010 17:01

Oh well done Jet - if you'd told her how you got the black eye she'd probably have thought you were covering something up anyway

Hells I am definitely keeping that profile picture - it's from Christmas 2 years ago but it's definitely me - the glass of kir royale suits me, don't you think?

wastingaway · 30/01/2010 17:05

Jet, I forked out for Dear John and was less than impressed. Use whatever moisturiser you'd normally use. I do like the That Gal primer though.

Sazz, great going on the run.

Yank, might be worth checking position now he's bigger as that can affect latch.
I defer to Flamingo's more extensive knowledge and experience though, of course.

jetcatisfrozen · 30/01/2010 17:06

thanks hells, i have very dry skin, which is why Benefit woman said no to a powdered foundation thingy but to try the tinted moisturiser.

No, she didnt put anything on my eyes, as i dont think she felt too comfortable touching my poorly eye I kept telling her that where it is brusied (all over the eyelid and below) it doesnt hurt, but when she was stabbing dotting the concealer etc on the brow line, that was where it was painful

I have seen the products for about half the price on ebay, but i am now thinking of going for another makeover for another cheaper brand (maybe No 7?) to see what that is like. Plus, benefits of No 7, there is always freebies on offer

wastingaway · 30/01/2010 17:08

How are the drawers Trills?

jetcatisfrozen · 30/01/2010 17:08

wasting - i dont actually use a moisturiser, as i always used to have good skin. As i get older it is def getting dryer though, so will have to do something!

I loved the primer as well, it didnt half reduce my redness even before anything was used!

wastingaway · 30/01/2010 17:11

Cheap moisturiser like Simple would be best bet to try then. You can spend more on the make-up then.

jetcatisfrozen · 30/01/2010 17:13

thanks wasting - can you tell i am getting prepared for out meet

I even (in half motivation half desparation) bought a size 16 top today, which is about 2 sizes too small But, will use it as a benchmark to aim for - it was only £1.50

Poor you Lizzy - hope it subsides soon. My other half at work came in on Friday with it.

Wasting, I have been writing every single point (and halfs) down as I know it is easy to misjudge if you don't.

It sounds like you had a lovely time with makeover jet (but blimey 85 quid ). I am getting to the bottom of my Lancome foundation and am dreading going to buy another.

Hells, I agree with you on that one that Trills is gorgeous. My grey roots are showing too. When I had my hair coloured last time, she put a tint on the roots to cover the grey bits but it washes out after umm about 45 washes. I have a mallen streak at the front where my fringe is.

Yank, hope your boobie sorts it self out. Would a nipple shield help? for your weight gain.

Vinny, I have pointed DH in the direction of the vits isle for Boots tomorrow - thanks

Have done some cake decorating. Actually it doesn't look too bad.

DH is insisting we have a takeaway for tea. I said for them to have a takeaway and I would get something else and he said no, the whole point of it was to give me a break even from just making my own. I have asked him to choose something off the menu that looks as fat free as it can be for an indian.

Thanks again. for all your lovely comments and good wishes.

Shiney, have been looking at train times today although I cannot book it yet, but it is only about £22 return to Manchester and there is a train that gets in about 11.45 ish, so we could just dump our bags at the hotel (don't think we can check in till about 3.00), have a quick lunch and then hit the shops (we could even just by an M&S sandwich and munch as we are going round) and then check in when we have finished.

TrillianAstra · 30/01/2010 17:21

Bella - you need a tomato-based rather than creamy curry, and boiled rice rather than pilau or naan bread.

Georgimama · 30/01/2010 17:25

Yank are you using lasinoh? It's the very best cream going. Saved my Bfing - I would have given up after three weeks if some wonderful friend hadn't given me a tube. It is pricey but frankly you use it so sparingly (and you will only need it for a little while) that I doubt you would need to buy another tube.

wastingaway · 30/01/2010 17:25

Jalfrezi is cream-free I think?

hellsbelles · 30/01/2010 17:25

Yes indeed Trills the Kir Royal is a genius touch

Jet - I think all mine are for combination skin - But I will check

Bella - I have a mallen streak all over my head (if that is poss?!)

bellavita · 30/01/2010 17:28

Have found a tandoori curry (Chicken Shaslick) - marinated chunks of breast cooked in a clay oven with onions, capsicums and tomatoes. I am pretty certain this comes with hardly any sauce. (I am not fond of creamy curries anyway). Will order boiled rice instead of my usual pilau. As much as I love naans, I normally stay away from them as I know how bad they are.

bellavita · 30/01/2010 17:29

Hells, when I wrote that, I wasn't sure anyone would know what I meant

hellsbelles · 30/01/2010 17:32

sounds pretty virtuous Bella - in my South Beach diet - basmati rice is allowed on phase 2 - apparently it's a 'good' carb!?

I meanwhile am looking forward to pig out saturday with Fish & Chips and the remains of the chocolate aubergine cake (which I froze last week so we could have this weekend as well (and to ensure I didn't eat the whole thing in one go)
