...Come and be a Venus In Fake Furs (with a nod to any vegetarians, who may enjoy the odd Quorn fillet...)on our healthy eating thread, and watch yourself vanish before your very eyes, if that is your aim!

We are supporting each other to lose weight, or just eat well and get fit- but we do like a bit of a laugh along the way, so if you are interested in joining Shiney and the other regulars here and be in the gang, just drop in and post as much as you can- the thread moves fast!

All welcome- the only quiches round here are the contraband in my fridge

Morning!

Nice clean thread today.

Jet - that video was amazing. Have you seen/practised the t-shirt folding one?!

I got all excited about that, and then remembered that DH does the washing and the cleaner does the ironing/folding.

Phew - lucky escape for me there!

Am because have been good this week and dared to get on the scales this morning, only to discover that it has gone up rather than down.

hellsbelles · 05/11/2009 10:06

oh BIWI - that is so unfair if you've been good. Perhaps it's muscle from exercising?! Which we all know weighs more than fat

jetforkesandbonfires · 05/11/2009 10:06

BIWI - i am sure it will soon go in the other direction

i did hear talk of the folded tshirt vid - but couldnt find it Mind, all our tshirts are hung up - so maybe i can stick with sheets and towells

BecauseImWorthIt · 05/11/2009 10:13

Exercising? Nope. No idea what you're talking about.

TrillianAstra · 05/11/2009 10:50

Whenever I click to here from 'threads I'm on' it keeps taking me to the first page, not to the message I've clicked. Strange.

Hi Shiney, I hear you had John-Lewis fest yesterday - did you go in any other shops?

Lizzylou · 05/11/2009 11:41

Have just returned from my joggle, went better than Tuesday, managed a 15min stretch without having to stop and almost pass out. Helps with the Ipod.
Got back just in time, its peeing it down now.

Knackered now

Any chocs left, Shiney?

Well done on run Lizzy - did I point out that I did not eat a single Quality St when I got home last night?

hellsbelles · 05/11/2009 12:15
  • hope you are feeling suitably proud.

Trills -you too denying yourself of quality street surely proves you are made of stern stuff!

Today I am mostly wearing...lentil. Made DD a lovely lentil concoction and she remembered how fun it is to blow raspberries while eating - which ended up everywhere! But she did enjoy it and then had blueberries for pudding....and so I had to as well - she is a good influence (food wise not with the raspberries!). Slightly worried though that she has inherited my reaction to lentils...she is already farting!

VinegarTitsOnFire · 05/11/2009 12:23

I'm having salad for the 3rd day running, i havent eaten bread for over a week now

jetforkesandbonfires · 05/11/2009 12:34

gosh you guys are doing soooo well! Vinny without bread, Trills without the quality street and Lizzy on her run

I love bread, as sometimes a sandwich is the easiest, though admittedly not the healthiest, option. And even walking through Tesco with their bogof on choccie roses kills me Lord alone knows how i will get through xmas The only chocolate i have had since i started in July is the occasional finger of fudge

and def at the lentils

VinegarTitsOnFire · 05/11/2009 12:38

Hells thats a nice little lentil number you are wearing

hellsbelles · 05/11/2009 12:52

thanks Vinny

oh and I soon discovered it wasn't farting

SparklyAlice · 05/11/2009 12:58

Trills - mine is doing the same, it is annoying

BitOfFun · 05/11/2009 12:59

How are you feeling today Alice?

Lizzylou · 05/11/2009 13:05

Am hobbling like a pensioner now, even after my shower. How can I be so unfit, it's only been 7 a few weeks since I last went running?

Well done on refusing the chocs Trill, I can't have any in the house, they'd be gone in a flash.

Hope the lentil gunk comes out Hells? Bet it's blowy in your house

TrillianAstra · 05/11/2009 13:08

Mmm, farty stew for lunch.

I am going to eat QS tonight, I didn't buy them to just sit there

wastingaway · 05/11/2009 14:08

Afternoon ladies, very healthy thread today.

I'm really feeling the diet now. I've been checking points and buying low-fat stuff in.

I think the new jacket I bought yesterday helped. I don't look like a Teletubby now. I'm going to wear proper bras out and about now. The bugger never wants a feed when we're busy, so why am I dragging my toegazers round around my waist in nursing bras when under-wires exist?

Lizzylou · 05/11/2009 14:20

@ toegazers Wasting.

I feel your pain.

I keep meaning to go a proper bra shop and get fitted out in a more supportive (and uplifting) bra, these M&S ones are not working anymore.

BitOfFun · 05/11/2009 14:30

M&S are the Moriarty of the Lingerie World.

I have just had a call at work from my mum saying her little sister is ill with a chest infection in hospital. She must be about fifty, and has Downs Syndrome and has lived in a home for years. They reckon it might be the end for her because of her health complications, but my poor mum cant drop everything to go and see her because she is with my dd2, and I'm stuck in this stupid empty shop until the boss can turn her phone on and call me back. She is at a class, I think, so not sure when she'll see my message.

AnnMumsnet · 05/11/2009 14:45

Hello - Shiney healthy eating ladies....Total 0% yoghurt ran a survey with us a while back and we saw several people mentioned there was already much promoting of Total on shiney's healthy eating threads. Total have come back to say they'd like to send some product to those who have been spreading the word for them on Mumsnet, so if you think you fit that bill, do email Julie Millar (no spaces) and she'll send some along to you. If there is another MNer you think deserves this for promoting Total 0% yoghurt then please point them in this direction!

Product will be dished out on a first come first served basis [10 Mumsnetters only], so apologies if you don't receive any (but sounds like Syc should be head of the queue!!)

Thanks

MNHQ

BitOfFun · 05/11/2009 14:46

Oh yes, Syc, definitely

TrillianAstra · 05/11/2009 14:57

Fantastico.

I don't think I deserve it, although obviously I would love some free yoghurt.

Is there someone at Total who is paid to search the internet for mentions of their product?

I suggest we do an advanced search to see who has most mentions of 'Syc's yoga brekka' or similar
