Would you be concerned with frequent sickness in a c7 yo hild?

My DS seems to get ill quite frequently. He is 7 and eats well and is very fit and active.
But every couple of weeks, he gets a sickness bug and it totally wipes him out.

He often complains of feeling sick, but when he is acting his usual self, its hard to believe him. He is definitely sick today, I have the contents of the bucket to prove it!

Would you be concerned, or is it completely normal? Its not all year, every year, but it feels that way just recently.

Please be persisitent. I think it is unusual for 7 year olds to be sick more than a few times a year.

My own 8 year old has not been sick since last August. That was a tummy bug.

my 10 year old rarely gets sick, so I knew by comparing the two of them, he was getting sick too often. He looks a healthy child (good colour, very active)

Many sympathies. Hope you get somewhere with your hospital appointment .

Oh what a start to the day.
He was up at 6am telling me he felt sick. Got some water and he settled down in my bed (furthest room from the toilet) and he vomits. I told him to get to the toilet so he vomitted on the way to the toilet.

I've just washed the whole floor and he has now settled in front of the tv with a bucket, tissues and a bottle of water.

Hospital appt isn't until this afternoon, hopefully he can stop being sick by then as we have to go on the bus.

He stopped being sick by lunchtime so the journey to the hospital was fine.

The Dr did an examination and checked all the vitals and is satisfied that there is nothing serious wrong with him. She was reluctant to call them migraines but said they could be.

All we can do is continue as we have been. Let him sleep it off after the sickness and take him back if they become more frequent.

Personally, I am not happy with that as it means he will continue to vomit and be wiped out for a day or so each month. But it appears there is nothing else I can do

Have you tried keeping a food diary for him to see if it is triggered by particular foods? (eeka here under my more current posting name)

I kept a basic diary to record when he had the sickness.
I also started a food diary but it didn't last very long because he literally doesn't stop eating.
He is 128cm and weighs 4st 2lb so is within the range that he should be so its not like he overeating. It will be hard to keep up but I would like to put a stop to it.

UPDATE

I moved DS to another primary school as I wasn't happy with the very poor behaviour of others in his class which I felt could be stressing him out. It was certainly stressing me out!
He moved in November 2009, he was sick on the 23rd November 2009 and hasn't had the mystery sickness since.

I think the mystery has been solved! I am so glad I moved him to a new school, I so wish I had done it sooner. I did hate moving him and hated seeing him so worried and upset about moving. He had to leave a lot of very good friends behind and I shed many tears during the process, but it was definitely for the best.
