Timodine has a steroid and anti-fungal so no good at all. The steroid will stop a bacterial infection from healing. It's also useless if you haven't kept it in the fridge.

this is the closest to what dd has, but it's huge and much more yellow (and appears to be on someone's cock ). really there are 6 water blisters, not one bigger than a mm and a half across.

is that right about the timodene? interesting, and frustrating, because we keep it in a particularly warm place funnily enough.

Timodine needs to be kept below 15'C which is much cooler than most houses. Best to keep it in the fridge, and it's more soothing too.

I think it sounds like chickenpox and you definitely shouldn't put steroid on that.
I wouldn't worry though, impetigo or chickenpox, neither are a big deal.
If they've developed a golden yellow crust by the morning then it's impetigo and you'll need antibiotic cream and if she's developed more crops of these blisters then you'll know it's chickenpox.

Let us know when you find out will you.
I'm very competetive and love to be right even tho I'd never admit that in RL.

CKelpie · 23/03/2009 22:32

I had impetigo when I was a teenager and it started off like coldsores - so it could be.

A course of antibiotics and lashings of a cream they prescribed cleared it up fairly quickly but I left it a while before I went to the doctor - I had it all down my back and had to peel my tshirt off in the morning.
Disgusting but at the same time fascinating in the same way as peeling sunburn is.

Don't ignore it.

EldonAve · 24/03/2009 07:19

if it goes crusty and yellow it's probably impetigo and you need to take her to the GP

wastingmyeducation · 24/03/2009 07:33

Tiny blisters can be eczema. I get that if I don't wash cheese grease off my fingers.

slightlycrumpled · 24/03/2009 08:09

Hand foot and mouth is going round here. That is tiny water blisters, on the mouth area, palms of hand and soles of feet. It is also accompanied with a viral type of cold.

well, this morning i can report that the scratch on the bridge of her nose is back to being just a scratch, no yellow crust. and the patch of red on her lower cheek is less red (although still a bit) and the water blisters have gone, again with no crust. it's really rather mysterious.
