How did your child react to the mmr jab?

Dd had her mmr yesterday after my putting it off for about a year. She's 2.5 now. I posted yesterday as I found out later she may have been exposed to a child with chickenpox at the childminder and have been worrying.

This morning dd's quite hot and has a very runny nose. Could this be due to the mmr or is it likely to be unrelated? How did your kids respond to the jab? Did they get the listed possible side effects?

not sure, Mummylonglegs - from my experience there was no measles reaction for a week - not sure of incubation for rubella but think mumps is about 3 weeks. how is your dd today?

She had a better night, coughed for about 30 mins instead of 2 1/2 hours! But she seems more 'poorly' today in a way, more tired and doing everything very slowly. She says she's 'fed up'! It's the 5th day after the jab. Maybe she's been unlucky and got a virus regardless of the jab and is feeling more lousy because of the two things going on together. I feel so sorry for her today though.

Hi MML-saw your "hi" on the other thread. Your dd sounds like she is having quite a hard time of it. Ds is more full of beans today, despite the hacking cough and drippy nose. DD i think has got flu. She is very hot, sleepy (never like her to be sleepy in the daytime), not eating and generally feeling very very sorry for herself. She put her Tamagotchi on pause this morning - so she must be poorly!! Calpol is doing nothing for her . Feel for them both as it is a beautiful day here, but they are not really up to going out. Speak soon
