I have tried so many things with no change and I’m fed up with it. Please share if you found something that you are certain made a difference. Thank you!

I use the wipes which seem to help but honestly I just feel like it comes and goes on its own terms 🤷🏻‍♀️

igivein · 02/02/2026 22:06

I have tea tree gel from the opticians. Seems to do the trick

AppleCherryTree · 02/02/2026 22:07

Cup of warm water with a couple of drop of baby shampoo. Use a cotton bud to clean the base if the eye lashes. Every morning snd night. If I stop doing it for my son, it does come back but it really does work for him.

Mindyourfunkybusiness · 02/02/2026 22:07

These eye patch things that I microwaved. Dr also advised to wash hands thoroughly and wash eyes 3x a day with water (and i left it to air dry to avoid introducing more problems) and either this helped or it just went away of its own accord.

Fantasmic143 · 02/02/2026 22:08

I get regular flare ups that are managed by 10 minutes under a heated (in the microwave) eye mask and wipes. I have to do it for about 10 days after it’s feeling better and that does it for a few months. I’ve just realised I’ve not had to do this since last April so that’s a win!

Salome61 · 02/02/2026 22:10

I had to buy the eye mask you heat in the microwave, it definitely helped. I hadn’t understood that it doesn’t go away once you’ve developed it😩I do have drops and the wipes when it’s bad.

Grizelina · 02/02/2026 22:10

Heated eye mask and wipes worked for me. Strict hygiene for hands at all times as its really easy to be touching around your face/eyes with hands that you haven't washed as do it without thinking. Best of luck as its miserable.

Emptinest · 02/02/2026 22:11

Once I found out what was irritating my eyes my blepharitis cleared up. For me it is powders so face powder, dry shampoo and powder eyeshadow. Once I stopped using those my eyes are so much better. I was getting eczema around my eyes and this is gone too.

I do this^ for DD
Wipes as an extra if out and about

Turnerskies · 02/02/2026 22:16

I use a cotton wool pad daily under the shower. I use vaseline most days when lashes are clumped together and wipes once or twice a week. I gave up on eye makeup years ago. I also use eye drops 3 times daily for dry eyes, which seems to be connected.

IGotBigKidsAndICannotLie · 02/02/2026 22:16

Cod liver oil capsules. I rarely even have to wash my eyes. Occasionally they get a bit sticky and I use one of the wipes, but not often.

Handeyethingyowl · 02/02/2026 22:19

Changing my mascara made mine go away.

Spamfrit · 02/02/2026 22:34

Have you heard of zest treatment. Opticians offer it for more long term treatment of blepharitis

BlueWall11 · 02/02/2026 22:35

A tiny bit of hydrocortisone cream. Cleared mine up and my mums. Now I put it on as soon as I feel a flare coming and it stops it

GCAcademic · 02/02/2026 22:38

Not wearing mascara any more.

Hydrosil Dry Eye Gel | Gel for Eye Eczema | Skin Shop https://share.google/EmOE2IPJnk1WCAaVa
This eye gel, I can honestly say it's changed my life. I don't go anywhere without a tube in my pocket and recommend it to anybody who suffers with sore eyes for many different reasons, blepharitis, eczema, dry skin etc.
And no, I'm not on commission 😂

mynameiscalypso · 02/02/2026 22:49

Have you confirmed that it is definitely blepharitis? I had a very well-regarded ophthalmologist diagnose me with blepharitis. I got a second opinion when none of the treatments/advice worked and it turned out that I actually had an issue relating to an auto-immune condition that I have which was causing the tear ducts to swell and become blocked. This was then causing recurrent eye infections and constant weeping. Once I’d had the right treatment, the problems resolved themselves almost at once.

ZenNudist · 02/02/2026 22:55

I just use the blephasol and dry eye drops

MonicaBingGeller · 03/02/2026 06:40

Thanks all. Annoyingly I have tried pretty much all of these things. I don’t suffer badly from it (except the occasional flare up) but it’s still frustrating. In zoom calls where I can see myself I’m so aware of my eyes looking different to before and it feels yuck. Will go back to longer stints with the heated eye mask as I’m not sure I ever committed enough to that.

DD had it severely and I was advised by the ophthalmologist not to be gentle. I wouldn’t follow this without proper advice but DD had blepharitis would get chalazions and at one point had a keratin horn. We would do hot not warm compresses when she had chalazions, repeating so that it was a few minutes 3 times a day. Scrubbing the eyelashes with baby shampoo in boiled water that had been allowed to cool down so safe. Making sure the eyelashes were not stiff, could be wiggled easily and had no crusting or gunk around them. We were told that it might stop being an issue in her early teens though (started at 5) and it did. Eye drops for the discomfort.

Zocular Eyelid System Treatment (ZEST)
is an in-office,, 10-to-20-minute,,, non-invasive procedure using a natural, okra-based gel to deep-cleanse the eyelids. It removes biofilm, bacteria, and Demodex mites from the lid margin, providing immediate, long-lasting relief from symptoms of dry eye, blepharitis, and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).

ForSassyDreamer · 03/02/2026 07:45

Suffered all my life with this from a little kid. Back then Moorfields eye hospital told me to put baby shampoo (diluted) on a cotton bud and wipe each eye daily. Over the years I've slacked off at times and immediately a chalazion or stye begins to form. Or lots of swelling. As I got older I used more baby shampoo (think one solid drop) directly onto cotton pad and soak in water, then wipe eyes (quite thoroughly, I'm not gentle). It's the ONLY thing that still works. But you must use a good amount so your eyes are soapy and stingy, not completely dilute it away...
Dread to think whether i'll have an eyesight left by the time I'm 80 after a lifetime of shampooing

freshsunday · 03/02/2026 07:55

Have you tried castor oil? Massaging a little drop on eyelids, eyelashes - then as you sleep it soaks in. This really helps mine. I have no diagnosis but get really dry & sore eyes.

Thesockthief · 03/02/2026 07:57

I was diagnosed with blepharitis and referred to a local NHS eye clinic who gave me all the usual advice - eye drops, mask etc which helped a bit but it was still uncomfortable. But I wasn’t till I was sent to Moorfields for a separate issue that the doctor gave me Hylo Night gel that I got real relief. You squeeze it into your eyes very last thing at night. It feels so much better. I have it on repeat prescription now.

PilatesAndLattes · 03/02/2026 08:01

Definitely start taking a strong omega 3 supplement and wash your face, including your eye area, with baby bath wash morning and night. These two things cleared mine up.
